• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. How do I get to the battery??

This sounds like an awfully simple chore. However in the manual when you go to the battery in the owners manual it shows you where it's located.
But in order to get to it you've have to remove the front cargo "bucket". And the manual tells you to go to the "removing panels" section.
However there is nothing in that section to show you how to get the "bucket" out.:sour:

Also I need a mounting ring and a tank bag to put on it. Any recommendations?

Thanks much, JimSTer

What year and model do you have? On 14 and newer RT it is in the front trunk, just unzip the liner and remove 2 - Torx 30 screws. On F3’s remove the black plastic service panel then remove 4 push pins that hold the bucket in place. On the older bikes it was under the seat

Hi SpyderAnn01:

Thanks for your reply. Your directions were spot on. And please excuse my lack of info on my Spyder.
I have a 2015 F3.
Just bought it with only 1600 miles on it. And of course we're now getting aquatinted.
My first trike, but been riding motorcycles for 45 years. I've always done all of my service work. And hope to continue that with the Can Am

I will guess you have an F3 model of some type by the forum and description. Remove the 4 reusable plastic rivets. First pull the center pin up about 1/2 inch. Then pull the whole revit out. Don't worry if the center pin comes out. It can be put back together. Then the whole trunk bucket can be pulled out. When you replace the bucket. You really don't have to put the rivets back in if you wish.

Hey you replied while I was typing!!

Hi billybovine:

Thanks so much for your input.
I just discovered that the previous owner installed a trickle charger lead on the battery. The only thing I'll need to do is move it so that I don't have to remove the service panel every time I plug it in.
Thanks again, JimSTer

If you figure out where to put it where it is accessible and you don't have to drill a hole in the frunk shell, please share.

I was able to locate a hole in the firewall just left of the battery. And attaching an extension, I zip tied it to the frame along the left and placed the receptacle jus below the seat.
Easy peasy;)

I was considering using an extension. They are cheap and I get get a variety of lengths and then put it wherever I want. This could very well be the solution I go for.
