• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How did we grow up and turn out good

 Now I'm going to have to see if I can find one of those sets.
But I'll bet that they're no longer just three bucks! :banghead:

As I see it...

video games have taken over . They teach you nothing...at least with those toys we learned pain and injury, strategies, team work etc in real time. All you get from video games is sore thumbs...:roflblack:

Hi Gene,

Re: They teach you nothing...

Let me disagree. The ONLY video/computer game that I have ever played is Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. I learned a lot about world geography playing that game.

YMMV,

i used to have the pistol when i was a kid. i turned out good because i had a tough Italian dad. he used to say to me, IF YOU EVER GET ARRESTED, I WILL BAIL YOU OUT AND GET YOU HOME. but then he said, ONCE I GET YOU HOME, YOUR GOING TO WISH YOU WERE BACK IN JAIL. i believed that man and was always good.

I remember "greenie stickem" caps. When playing guns, I liked that you had to stick the caps on each chamber--similar to reloading actual shells.

Do they still sell "cap" guns these days? :dontknow:

I want one of those! I'll keep in in the save right next to my AR-30.

But when we were kids we played with cowboy-type guns more than cops-and-robbers.

Our games were always pretty "confrontational":
Cops & Robbers
Cowboys & Indians
Astronauts & Aliens
Allies & Axis

But our favorite might have been "Caveman & Other Caveman"
We just beat each other with sticks!

 Do you think that's what happened to me? :D

:D When we were still beating each other up on the weekends: that game had not yet entered our feeble little minds... nojoke

Some of the girls were the best fighters anyway!
