There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. How close to 600 do you have to be, for the 600 mile service?

I'm at 540 and it's a beautiful weekend. I would hate to take it to the dealer this weekend.

How close to 600 should you be?

Thanks for the help.

Now I am not a good authority as I just got one but the dealer told me that I should use "at least" 600 as the benchmark - if it were above that it was what they were looking for at this first interval. Someone else may have a better answer though!

Well

My dealer is closed on Sundays.
So I could put another 60 miles on it real fast and then take it today.
But then I'm not sure what I would do tomorrow.

I just want to make sure I don't mess anything up.

I do have an email into my dealer. I will see what he says.

Thanks again for the help.

IMO, 600 miles is a "no less than" mark. I have read where many dealers have advised their customers to go at least 750 miles. Probably this all depends on your dealer. He's the one you have to deal with. After all, your Spyder has no clue how many miles you have put on it before you get the oil changed.

redroC,
Just bring in on Tuesday and have it taken care of by the Dealer. You will have your Spyder back Wednesday.

Boyd--As I recall, I had about 700 miles when I took it in to Wild West. I think as Dudley mentioned it's probably an "at least" kinda deal. If you need a ride back from WW this week, let me know. I'd be happy to give you a lift.

Mickey Fisher rode his 1st one for 3200 miles until he got his 600 mile service done. nojoke As long as there are no issues, you can take it between 600-1000 and maybe a little more...

I talked to the dealer and he said to just bring it in before 1,000.

I will prolly take it Monday or Tuesday. I will just drive it to work and have Romney pick me up from Wild West.

Thanks guys I appreciate the advice. (and thanks for the offer of a ride Glynn)

Don't forget to have the Dealer sign the owner's manual to show BRP that the service was done!

:agree:, it's not just the oil that gets changed, this is an opportunity that a trained eye can exam and check for anyother issues, or anything that might have come loose in the initial breaking period.

We had a similar experience and simply took a ride toward the dealership and ended up there close to the 600 mile mark. Fortunately the dealership is only about 10 miles for our home...obviously have heard stories of other Spyderlovers having to travel much further to dealership...maybe you could ride the limit and then trailer the spyder tot the dealership? I aam not an expert, however I would not push the limit too far for warranty reasons.
