• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How can I make a 900 more Rally-like?

Should not be too expensive, Peter.
She already has a luggage rack and full fender.
Just replace shocks, if not already done, change fluids and maybe upgrade lighting.

:clap::clap::clap: Enjoy.
Ride it for a while and then decide what changes you want to make.
The joke around our house is that I buy "STARTED KITS"

I tested a new 22 Rally - first I prefer the higher handlebars on my 900 std (2018 - 28T miles) - next the tires (no grip) - the three shocks are longer now, which is OK .. but the only difference is the "rally" mode, I love it, but not for this price-difference !
(maybe I invest in the mapping of my VSS - we have a company here who is offering that ..)

Thanks, everybody! First up was a battery tender lead, took care of that as soon as we rolled it off the trailer. Next up is heated grips, most likely. My hands never could take the cold and they seem to be more sensitive all the time. Thanks again, you can expect many, many more questions, hang in there with me, please! :)

Thank you, SportsterDoc. I was thinking I might need to look into some hand guards. And most likely a windshield of some sort. My credit card will be hot enough to melt.

For your location and especially for the winter BRP-XPS 10W40 is adequate.
For the summer, in hotter climates, consider 10W50, since BRPs 10W40 is only rated up to 104 F.

My local O'Reillys is no longer a source for 10W50, but a case of 6 is currently $52.99 from Amazon.
I also used it for my 2022 Triumph Street Twin, 2018 Yamaha XVS950 and now my 2023 Yamaha Xt250

Motoul 7100 is very high quality, but not as easy to source and more expensive.

My 2016 Moto Guzzi V7II ran well on only 2 liters (trans separate) of 10W60 Motoul 7100 in temps up to 116 F
