• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How can I confirm s/ware updates on Pre-purchase checklist were done?

Please excuse me, I was only trying to help as no-one else had responded.

Thanks, I'm sure Albec appreciated the freeby bump.

And it also gave me an ideal opportunity to remind everyone about not duplicating threads, so thanks for that too! :ohyea:

Did a search and I didn't find what I was looking for.

My new F3 included a prepurchase checklist in the paperwork that came with it.

Unsurprisingly, the list is pristine and never touched, with no indication that it was ever looked at and certainly none of the items where 'checked off' by the dealership.

One of the items indicates that the Spyder should have all of the subsystems updated with the latest firmware, or something to that effect.

How do I know if this was done? Is there a method to check the versions of these updates and compare them to what the latest versions are?

Here are the numbers and I would be very appreciative if you guys could compare the version numbers of mine to yours.

Thanks!

BRP SW v710007226
GSS SW v050.21
CSS SW v050.21
HW Version: G07
BL SW vS50.21

Thanks to Deanna for comparing her Spyder's software version numbers to mine. She has the exact same F3 that I do, and her numbers appear to be the same.

So, either we're both caught up or we're both behind. lol

The only people that can answer this are owners of similar model and year as the software # varies. And being a 2023 there is no need for BUDS to look this up.

HI rjinaz86323,

I have a 2023 F3 LTD Special Series it has the same software numbers as Albec.

Deanna

Just went out to garage and found my numbers - exactly the same as yours, Albec.

I will check my Cruise Control in the next few days. I'm leaving on Thursday for a short trip; but may get a ride in on Wednesday and I could possibly check it tomorrow. Will let you know.

Thank you for checkin!!!

Perhaps we did. You're in GA though...

See this post of mine on my initial experience with my new F3 and the dealership. The real fun starts at post #13.

Chalk up another dissatisfied iMoto customer. Purchased entirely via email and phone. Super nice salesmen and finance guy; sales manager couldn't understand why I was irked.
If you don't have the unit in stock, say so up front. Don't wait until AFTER all the paperwork is done and money transferred to say "well, we're waiting on your unit to get here before we schedule shipping". Wait, what? This was on Monday morning, after having all the paperwork done on Thursday/Friday the week before. Including the wire transfer of the down payment. Told them to cancel, was told that wasn't possible since "it's a brand new unit". After several unhappy (and likely unfriendly on my part as I was very irked about being mislead) phone conversations, my RTL was delivered Wednesday morning. With overinflated tires. Was asked what they could do to "make it right", so I made a couple suggestions (driver backrest and cargo liners/luggage) - the response was they'd be happy to sell them to me, at cost. Yeah, that wasn't what I had in mind.

When BRP sent my post-purchase survey, I told them exactly what I thought. I'll go to the local guys and spend more to avoid dealing with that place. Should have bought local to start with, but they couldn't find a 23 in Marsala Red in the state. :(

Oh, and this weekend, I got the "check key" code and she wouldn't start. Hauled her over to the local guys and they said there was a security something or other that wasn't deactivated, and were honestly shocked that I was able to ride at all.

I was lied to, right to my face, by three employees of iMotorsports in Elmhurst. I was told that I was purchasing a Spyder right out of the crate, they had to assemble it for me, they said. What I got was the model that's been sitting on the showroom floor for who knows how long.

What I should have done was walked out when I showed up with my cashier's check for the full amount, minus my $500 fully refundable deposit, and found out that they lied to me. Nothing wrong with the floor model, don't get me wrong, as long as it's not been scratched up (mine was but I didn't notice the scratches till I got home) and as long as they haven't lied about it.

I won't go back to iMotorsports, ever. I should have paid a bit more and dealt with one of the two Can-Am dealers closer to where I live. That's where I'll do my business from now on.

100% same opinion. I don't care that it was a dealer trade. I care that they couldn't be bothered to let me know up front. And don't blow smoke up my kiester with "we have access to inventory around the country" So do I - how do you think I found you?? And the extra "fees"? Good grief - over $2K in document, destination, import, prep, because-we-can fees.

Mine was fresh out of the crate. I made them send me video of the bike, including the VIN, to match to the paperwork that I docu-signed., and she was still in 2 pieces and strapped down.

Just to help clarify this discussion, your Spyder has numerous computers (modules) installed, and they each have separate firmware and software codes. I know it's not practical for every owner to have BUDS/BUDS2, but, each dealer should have it. When you/or the technician, connect BUDS, (BUDS2 in your case), it will show on the initial screen whether or not a firmware update is needed for ANY of the modules. The symbol used next to each module is a red lightning bolt to show an update is needed. If needed, then the technician should start the update process. BUDS2 is constantly updated. As I write this, the current version was released on June 3, 2024. Either way, any competent shop/technician can print you out a service report. This report will show the currently installed software/firmware version for every module. That said, you really have no way of knowing what the current version is unless there is that red lightning bolt.

The caveat to this is those of us that have the Megatech License. There ARE numerous software/firmware updates that are available that a dealer cannot install...

How long after you bought your Spyder did you get the post-purchase survey from BRP? I've had mine for about a month now and have not received a survey, or anything from BRP. I'm looking forward to telling them what I think of iMotoSports in Elmhurst, IL.

Well, I am still waiting for BRP to send me a post purchase survey for my 2024 S2S... It has been since the beginning of March 2024 now. But I did get a letter from BRP about the compensation for the lack of ACP and inability to use it.

Got my RTL May 15, email from BRP on June 7. Subject was "Welcome to the Can-Am On-Road Vehicle family! Please tell us about your experience at Imotorsports Inc.."

I tried clicking on the link again, but it said my response was already recorded. I was going to offer to forward it to you.

Hmmmm, maybe I need to contact BRP myself? I wouldn't be AT ALL surprised if iMotorsports screwed something up and BRP didn't get notified that I'm a new owner. After iMotorsports got my initial deposit, it was like I fell off the face of the earth...

I think they tried to ignore me, but I'm a bit pushy when I want a new toy...I texted or emailed them daily, didn't give them an opportunity to ignore me. Wiring $10K was a bit of a struggle for me, since I didn't want to let that money go! I did try canceling, once I found out about the dealer trade thing. They've offered repeatedly to "give me a great deal, even cost" for accessories. They can pee up a rope - I won't spend another penny there. Most everything I want is available at Lamonster, Slingmods, or Bajaron, anyway! Oh, and TricLED! ;)

To anyone reading this thread, we have a great reputation as a Can-Am dealer for a reason. Even so, like any other business, we run into people who cannot be satisfied no matter what.
