• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How about heated gear - what's your favorite? Any other suggestions?

We ride most of the year around here. I bought battery operated heated gloves last fall, and just ordered a Venture heat jacket liner (12 volts). Should be here next week. I need to fun the power wire to the battery. Any tips?

Level 4 thermals from Scheel's. T-shirt and thin lambs wool sweater.

Georgia Boot company heavy leather working boots with carbon fiber toe protectors, keeps the feet warm. (Plastic disposable over foot bags if it's raining - from Amazon).

Water proof leather gloves with lambs wool lining, Cycle Gear.

Heavy leather jacket (old Triumph own brand), Kevlar lined jeans, waterproof pants and jacket (old BMW own brand).

Shoei Flip up helmet with bike balaclava underneath. Just keep the chin vent open occasionally.

Turn on the heated grips and seat to first level.

My RT seems to keep the cold wind off my hands, feet and body really well. Just the tops of my legs get a bit of the air flow.

The real problem is, when you get where your are going you have to peel most of the layers off otherwise you will cook to death.

If it's too cold for this lot, it's probably icy with a threat of snow and I'm taking my SUV.

I never used to wear heated gear. It was always too expensive it seemed when I could just bundle up and peel off later.
However, as time rolls on it seems I don’t tolerate the cold well at all. I am an official coldy-cat now.
Everybody I am now riding with has heated gear.
For me it was either get some or stay in the house.
GEESH!! I had no idea what I was missing by saving my pennies.
No more looking like the Michelin Man with all those layers and not able to move very freely.
I LOVE this heated stuff.. see my post #5 here. Particularly I like the heat on my back and hands.. like a spa to my muscles and joints!!

I use First Gear ( Warm & Safe Heated Gear) jacket, pants and socks with heated gloves. Got them all from Baja Ron at a good price, with super service. The FG equipment have functioned well.

I rode today. beautiful sunny day about 50/55F, the can am heated grips are probably marginal below 50F unless you wear thicker gloves, The thicker the gloves the less feel you have on the handle bars and you tend to squeeze the bar tighter resulting in tired hands.

I have never ridden my sled in the winter time with heated gear but have ridden in the mountains and locally down to about -20F quite comfortably. The handle bar warmers are much better on a sled so I use very thin gloves, and wind deflectors that help keep the hands warm.

For body comfort I run Klim jacket and bib pants (windproof and waterproof but breathable) and usually a base layer and one to two mid layers. This allows the moisture to escape and the base layer keeps you dry. You are more active on a sled than a Spyder so in temperatures below 32F you may need the second midlayer, but no wires to hook up and free movement.

Been using Warm'n'Safe for years. Except for the spelling of their name, I've been quite pleased. Wife agrees, and she's always cold.
socks, pants, jacket and glove liners. All work. Simple to use.
Recommended.

You haven’t listed what your ride is, nor the year. Looking at the photo, I assume it’s an F3, but no idea on the year. My 2014 RTS has heated grips and they work fantastically. Great heat while on “low”, nut put on “high” and they are just too blamed hot. just my 2 cents

'22 F3S and there is only one choice for hand warmers in the accessory catalogue. The settings are on or off.
