• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hot Seat!

HOT SEAT! On my ride sat to Alabama I was, experiencing so much heat coming from my seat, particularly around my inner thigh area. It seems to be coming from that center bar under the seat. Does anyone else have hot seat issues and if so have you found a solution for that? I remember reading about some models of the rt catching fire but was told my model year 2011 RT was not affected, but it certainly does get hot. I also feel a lot of heat on my right foot, but I know there are items sold out there to eliminate that. Any suggestions on what to buy to help with these heat issues?

Little checking..

You can check with your dealer about the modified panels for heat issues used on the 2013's which will help. You can also check the "Y" gaskets to make sure they are not leaking, you can wrap the pipes to reduce the heat...

Block off Plates

Yes there is a lot you can do. First off, SpyderPOPS sells a block off plate to cover the right side openings on the RT (sponsor of Spyderlovers), with these covers you would be required to remove the lower the plastic cover on the under side of the bike just behind the radiator. This forces the hot air down and out from beneath the bike. I have a 2012 RT-S, and I used Inspector Gadget's template to make a block off plate for the right side (similar to SpyderPOPS). The template can be found here..http://www.spyderrt.info/ under the U-do-it tab. I also removed the panels from the underside of the bike. The bike runs so much cooler. You can also, get the air scoops that were the solution to fix the 2013 RT over heat issues. It has been said that BRP will installed them for free for 2012 and older if you bring up the heat issue with your dealer. I have not try this yet, but I am thinking about it.

Another route you can do is get a after market high flow air cleaner/intake. My friend has a 2012 RT as well. After he removed the stack air box and resonator and replaced it with an aftermarket high flow air cleaner/intake, he found that his RT ran a lot cooler. I was looking in to this as well.

Adding the air scoops that were part of the 2013 heat recall will do a lot to remove under the tupperware heat. Significantly cools down the body panels and seat area. Works very well on all 2010 to 2016 RTs and they are less than $70

Where do I buy them?

Am I understanding that these will fit 2015 as well?
Is the part number listed a BRP part number?
