• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HOT Gas Tank

frank3

RT-S PE#0180
For some time now, I have been considering wrapping my exhaust headers to hold down on the engine compartment heat and it's influence on the ridder. Last Friday, after a 100 mile ride in 95 deg. weather, I returned home, parked the RT in the garage and went into the house. 15 minutes later, went into the garage to retreive something and smelled strong gas odor. Looked under the RT and saw gas slowly dripping from what I think is a vent hose in the center protion just behind the readiator. Looking closer, I could see gas vapors emitting from the same hose and I think the dripping was the gas condensating inside the hose and dripping out. The gas tank was less than 1/3 full. I pulled the right side tupperware off to look at the gas tank. Found the gas tank so hot that it was impossible to hold your hand on the side of it. Guess this is normal but gives me even more reason to insulate the exhaust pipes.
Would love to hear everyones opnion about this.

Your dripping pipe could have been the coolant. Mine has done that several times leaving a few spots on the garage floor.
With the engine being right next to the fuel tank and headers it is bound to get hot, but I'm not sure it should be a concern.
There have been a few that wrapped their pipes, but I haven't seen the reported results.

No, it's not coolant or my nose isn't working. Placed my finger in dripping liquid and, YES it's gas. Can't wait to wrap my exhaust pipes.
