• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hot Foot Heat Deflector

I did the heat recall on my 2013 RT Ltd. and that really helped for what it was supposed to do, but I still got a hot right foot from the fan exhaust. I know many have probably done some kind of modification for that, but I decided to try something on my on.

I found an old white tote lid of some pretty pliable plastic material and decided to see what I could come up with. I make a rough cut cardboard pattern and then refined it to fit better. I just cut the plastic with some heavy duty scissors. I used 5 small pointed end screws to mount the shield to the rear interior wall of the fan exhaust outlet - top and bottom, 3 at the top and 2 at the bottom. That inner wall above the center brace is not attached to anything behind it, so screwing my shield to it pulls it away from it's normal shape / position a small amount, but OK for my purposes. The only drawback to a one piece shield like this is that to remove the middle side panel, you have to remove the shield, but no biggie - just 5 short screws, and the holes are easily found again on a reinstall. I felt that a two piece shield would be too flimsy and possibly vibrate too much. At first I planned on getting some Krylon black plastic paint for the shield, but after a pre-fit, I decided I liked it white and decided to leave it as is.

After I test ride it, I'll see how things work out. I don't think this will not be too restrictive to airflow.

I changed the photos to verticals, but they loaded horizontal. Sorry!

Really nice looking workmanship!! About as neat as you can get!
Anxious to hear the results,

I broke down and spent $18.99 for a 2014 right side grill, which has a bottom block off plate. That gaping hole always annoyed me, and I thought that the Spyder looked unfinished. Now it looks the way I thought it should always look, and no hotfoot. Easy install too.

Well, I finally got in a ride after days of rain and muddy subdivision roads. I like this shield a lot, it deflects the heat away from my right foot just as I had hoped for. I wish I had done this sooner.

BTW - The material I used is about 1/16" thick and just flexible enough to fit the curves inside, but stiff enough to do the job.
