• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

hello, any one have this on their spyder? 2012 RT Se5 front brakes are squealing like dirty pigs and the dealer says, '' it's NORMAL''
I don't buy it ! when ever I come to a stop and lightly step on brake , it has a loud -loud- shreiking sound I just have duck
and stare straight ahead when people get startled.
I am thinking I have warped brake discs or something in the brake pads . dealer has looked at this 3x with no avail.
may have to dig into my pockets again and buy new brakes and discs to see if its it gets fixed :banghead:

It is common with Spyders. Get a bunch of Spyders together at low speeds and you will hear a lot of brake squealing and rear shock compressors making noise.

Little checking..!!

Heres what I would do. Pull the calipers off and sand the brake pads a bit. Glazed pads will do this, trapped debris also. Some squealing is common from time to time but not to the point of embarassment. Bend discs you would feel lobing in the brake pedal. If you do change pads go for the metalic type...

yah the dealer has deglased and has worked on the at least 3x , last week done same work and drove my spyder 50ft and shreik loud.
turned around asked the to come out and observe my problem. tech. told me nothing can be done about anymore, deal with it-so I am-
then I will let them know if it works or not! gona buy pads first though!

Take the front wheel s off and check to make sure that there is nothing in or around the caliber s look
Closely around the pads and the center part . Good luck

brake noise

yep -- deglaze pads / clean rotors / try metallic pads -- but to hear a "tech" tell you nothing can be done "deal with it" -- pisses me off -- either he doesnt know how and should find out or he doesnt want to be bothered anymore -- not much of a "tech" as far as I'm concerned(30 Master G.M. tech here) -- Hey -- "tech" take a little pride in you trade and fix it!!

Grind the edges of the pads. Just a smidgen. The sharp 90 degree angle of the pads lightly grazing by the rotors causes the noise on some. It corrected mine immediately. Some would call it beveled.

My '14 has the squeal for last couple thousand miles; started about 1K. Only when coming to very slow stop.

:agree: Just bevel the "bottom" edge of the pads; that's the edge that the wheel is rotating toward...
It'll give a bit smoother transition, and stop the chattering.
Cut it, at maybe a 45 degree angle...
