• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

horn mod?

Added a Stebel air horn...left the stock horn in place..

I agree that the horn on my wife's '08 & my RT are pretty anemic. I'd like to see something more pleasing to the hear in place, even a stock GL1800 horn would work. I think a dual horn of some sort would be best.

I'm also interested in what others think & have done.

I didn't think Spyder's horn is that bad. It sounded just as loud as the ones on my other cars and louder than the stock horn on my '03 Tacoma which is pittiful. So I actually updated the Tacoma horn instead. (I actually seen my new horn "fry" somone outta their driver seat in the morning ... LOL)

In the city the spyder horn can be heard; on the highway, IMO, it isn't loud enough.

Wow, there are more Ryders adding or changing a horn then I figured.

How about:

Groundeffect....Do you sleep or are you awake 24/7 thinking about your Spyder???LOL By the time you get it there will be nothing left to learn.

I do sleep... just not that much, haha :D

I thought first that reading and learning from all the experienced Spyder Ryders on this forum would be a good way to 'wait' for delivery... however, it's making it worse. haha.

I really am learning a good amount of information about the Spyder ( thank you SpyderLovers ). I can only hope I'll be able to contribute to new Spyder owners in the future.

Cheers.

By the time he gets his RT he might be tired of it ... so one of us can pick it up as a used :ani29: at agreat discount.:joke:

I would love to have the Transformer sound for my Spyder. I would rig it as a second horn, as I am sure it would not be loud enough for anything else. Question is, do they really make one of those?

I thought of you, actually, since you have a great looking transformers Spyder. Not sure they make a horn that can do that, but may a tiny ipod shuffle hooked to a small speaker would do the same. - not as a replacement horn, but just for fun, would be neat!
cheers. :)

I saw a very nice set of LARGE Kicker speakers at a shop last Friday. The look on my wife's face while I was contemplating where I may be able to mount them on my Spyder was priceless. :D
