• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I wonder why this never caught on. Its one of the coolest bikes, or any machine, I have ever seen. Makes a VRod look like a scooter.

If I could afford to have a collector bike, this would be one of them. I love the looks of the bike, but it is not practical for the number of miles that I log on each year. It would be sort of like having a chopper for me (although I would never own a chopper). Something for occasional cruising, and taking to bike shows. But nothing that I would want to take on a 100+ mile ride. I purchased my first bike in 2006 for a 40th birthday gift for myself. Since that time, I have been through 9 different bikes and log about 8-10k miles a year. That is not the bike for that kind of riding.

They remind me of a "World-Class Supermodel"... :D

Sexy beyond belief; but probably scary to live with, on a daily basis!

And they were extremely expensive. And Bob you are exactly right, this was a super model built by Honda as a design exercise that received so much positive press on its looks they decided to build it. Honda forgot that once you buy it you have to live with it.

I saw one on the road here in Alaska. Big, mean looking. You can buy a Valkarie again though. The Rune was a super Valk, in my opinion.

Wow...!

Saw one on the showroom floor way back then, though to myself if it's going to be that massive you need more wheels....:roflblack: so I got more wheels...:spyder:

Kinda like my RT. Except it hasn't lived with me for a long time now.

Cost/handling/performance/weight

Cool looking? YES
Big bucks? YES
Handle like the massive, poorly sprung, low, heavy monster? YES
A bit over 100 HP, but the weight slowed it down.
So, it tanked in the market.
Still cool, but useless.

It was cool, but then Honda made it better.

They came out with the new Valkyrie. Although not as sculpted as the Rune, it is definitely cheaper and less expensive to upkeep, but still has killer looks. A lot of the Goldwing parts fit on the new Valkyrie.

Hey Deb, your F3 looks awesome! Look forward to seeing it at SpyderQuest. Dwight

One thing about the new Valkyrie, pictures do not do it justice. I was not impressed when I first saw pictures of it. The bike needs to be seen in real life to be appreciated. But, with a weight of 750lbs, 125HP, & 136 lb-ft of torque means that it is a rocket. Although, I need all that power to keep up with my wife. She is no putty-butt.

Sorry, it looks fat and ugly. Only 100 hp? My BMW 2015 R1200R roadster weighs 500# and has 125 hp. What were they thinking. I'm with Joe "the Square" on this one.
