• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just got my Honda exhaust gaskets today and would like an updated list on how long these are lasting in the Spyder so I can put a notation in my maintainence log. Please post when you installed them and miles since installation.

I wish BRP Parts came in this fast. I ordered them from Honda on Wednesday and pick them up today. I ordered a bunch of parts from BRP same day, and will be waiting up to two weeks for delivery.

I will be making a video on how to install the gaskets next week and load it in the DIY thread then. Honda part number 18392-MAM-000 and you need two of them.

I'm not so sure anyone who installed the Honda gaskets had them fail yet. I have 9,000 miles on mine, which is nothing.

I put the Honda gaskets in at 8 thousand miles, Sold the Spyder at 19 thousand miles, The gaskets were still good.

Sold my RS with 23,000 miles (19,000 miles on the Honda gaskets ) on the clock. I order parts from my dealer with a 2-5 day turn around provided the part isn't back ordered !

OEM gaskets: 4-5K miles
Honda gaskets: 30-40K miles
Somebody post last year about Honda understanding the sudden demand for these gaskets

Thanks for the info. I have over 4,000 miles on my Spyder RS. I'll order a set and put them on, why take a chance on having a failure on a trip. It's looks like BRP uses Low Quality Parts to keep the dealers working and when gaskets blowout and if you keep riding, the drive belt can gets damaged. That's IMHO.

Okay, that went way over my head. :dontknow:

Noone knows how long it takes to tune a banjo cos it's never been done.

Similarly, noone knows how long the Honda gaskets last as they've never had to be replaced.

HINT - forever

hmmmmm...... we're over 20,000 miles on stock gaskets so far & still running good

You and your comments are in a wrong section of SL: "Spyder ShopTalk-GS/RS-Post your Can Am Spyder mods and tech type post here."

5 minutes on the banjo or less depending upon 4 or 5 string.

Gaskets... just like " how long is a piece of string"

Banjos...
How do you define "Perfect Pitch"

That's when you throw a banjo into the local dump, and it smashes into a set of bagpipes! :D

I have a brand new set of these gaskets, # 18392-MAM-000 just setting around taking up space. If anyone wants them you can have them for $10.00 shipped to your door. I have to much stuff laying around and am clearing things out. One of the packages has been opened but it is new and perfect. PM me if you are interested. :coffee:
