• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Don, there is a list of hotels on the homecoming lodging page. I just booked a room at the Comfort Inn. I tried to call the 800# listed but was told that they couldn't make a reservation that far out and I had to call the hotel directly. She had no info on the event and the rates she quoted me were much higher than what was listed on the lodging page. She said she will find out about a group rate and will contact me if my rate changes.

Hey!! EAST COAST POSSE!!

Get in touch via our email list, and let's co-ordinate our "Assault on the Northern Border".
I think that Chris and I should check out the plumbing, in only the finest hotels. :D

And since I had to go look up the dates for myself:
June 2nd, 2017, to June 4th, 2017.

EDIT: This is where Lamont is staying; http://hotel-le-president.com/en
Looks good to me...

427.68 US for three nights

Ok

Well that's three of us in the same hotel. Let's put a group together for this. We will be having a contingent from Sacramento going maybe we can meet in Reno and head east together!

I tried calling a couple times. They keep putting me through to the group reservation guy and just goes to voicemail. I left my name and number. Will try again tomorrow.

We need to find out if Chuck is going. He mentioned meeting at his place in NY for a day or two prior. That would be fun.

Ann, I am booked @ Comfort Inn Drummondville, QC. When I called the clerk said " BRP had not contacted them about the event, and not sure where the $ 108.00 rate came from". Deanna

I called both the Best Western and the Quality Inn in Drummondville, and they are aware of a Can Am event, so be sure to ask for the group rate. There is one out there.

Comfort Inn Sherebrook!! 3 night reservations made. I can't wait to see everybody!!
next on the list is passport!

There are several places to stay around Valcourt. You have Sherbrooke, Drummondville, Magog, and Granby. All are within an hours ride to Valcourt.

To get an idea of hotel rates I searched for hotels on Google maps and then clicked on the hotel link in the search result panel. I put in Aug 25 to 29, 2016 for stay dates to bring up some rates. Most of the rates that came up are roughly double what you see on the Google maps search results. Those are CAD. I think the Google search numbers may be USD. Current exchange is 0.76 USD to 1.00 CAD.

The rates shown on the Homecoming web site for hotels are closer to USD than to CAD, so the $119 rate shown for Comfort Inn is in USD close to the $159 CAD some of you are reporting.

Comfort Inn Drummondville arriving the 1st through the 4th.

Had a lovely conversation with the general manager. She's very excited to have everyone there and only has about 20 reservations so far; plenty of room. She's planning on having a guard in the parking lot overnight to keep and eye on the bikes and I suggested she set up a wash station similar to what the hotels for Spyderfest do. She thought that was a terrific idea.

RUN!

I'm booked at the Comfort Inn in Sherbrooke. (There's one on Drummondville, too.) But the price they quoted was $159, instead of the $115 shown on the event web-site. http://www.cvent.com/events/can-am-...px?i=74f00133-8114-40dd-94ef-923c78bb808f&r=1 I'm hoping they'll get updated pricing when the event gets closer.
I just booked there too for 1-4 June. Same $159 Canadian as you got. Said they didn't know anything about the lower price.

The woman on the phone said she had about 40 rooms booked against our event already.
