There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Home Safe From Maggie Valley Check-in....

BBQ

Made it home Saturday around 7 PM. Didn't make the BBQ but had a great time at the OE. Already looking forward to next year. Met lots of awesome people and the area was beautiful. Put around 1300 miles on my new RTS. It ran like a champ, NO problems.

No wonder I couldn't find you at the BBQ. You didn't go.

We are home, but had to Drop DocRags in Altanta so she could go to her mothers, for a few days while she is in the Hospital, and I drove all the way myself. I was great to see and visit everyone at the Owners Event and at the BBQ. Will be looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

I sure enjoyed meeting you and Cheryl.

I'm still on the road. I stayed in Greeneville Saturday night and got to Paducah last night. I will probably split up the remainder of the trip home and get home on Tuesday.

Owners Event & BBQ

Left Greeneville TN about 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning and arrived back home in SC around 3:30. Had so much fun!

Patti and I rolled back into Blum Texas at 1am this morning. We had a GREAT time this past week, enjoyed meeting up with old friends and made allot of new ones. We actually had time to enjoy the Smokey mountains and all they had to offer. We were very impressed with he entire BRP owners event.

enjoy the ride
Allen & Patti

Paula and I got home about 8:30 last night. We did a power trip from Gatlinburg of about 12 hours and over 700 miles. Had a great time!!

After the BBQ "thanks Lamont" we went to Pigeon Forge and spent the night. Sunday we did the 160 miles home on some great twisty back roads.
Got home at 2:00 pm. Great event and great people.

Tell her to fight fight fight the ticket! Ask for a deferral if she will take an online safety class and go 6 months without another ticket. They'll usually agree to a deferral in exchange for extra $$$$.

PM me if you want more info on filing the right paperwork to help get a deferral...it's really pretty easy.

In NC it's known as a prayer for judgement. The cost of the offence should be listed on the ticket. Speeding is three points on your record and NC has a reciprocal agreement with other states. If my memory is right, and she chooses to challenge the ticket it has to be in court either in person or through an attorney. I had a speeding ticket in 1993, 69 in a 55. I checked with my lawer and gave him the background on the ticket. He got it reduced to 60 in a 55. I had a clean record and hadn't had a ticket in 25 years. Took 4 months to do it because he wanted to get the right judge to hear the case.

Got home at around 6, ordered Chinese food to be delivered, checked in with some folks, and crashed the bed! Puppies were worn out!!! But it was a safe and awesome trip for the records! Even caught up with Spyderpops and the crew in Jackson, TN knowing they were 20 miles ahead of us.

Glad to see most of y'all in Maggie Valley... We got late to Lamont's BBQ because we thought we could leave early, take the Tail of the Dragon and the Foothill Parkway and thru Pigeon Forge and make it by 11am. BIG MISTAKE:banghead: Got into Lamont's by 3 (never thought food for over 500 guest would be gone in an hour) and hanged around... But it was a great time!!!

1350 miles on the whole trip if anyone is keeping track

Nancy & I got home tonight about 8, after spending the night in Bull's Gap. Had a few issues on the way home. and ran about 70 miles one time with the check engine light on and a "Check DPS" warning. That flashing orange warning is sure distracting, but the update announced at last year's OE did prevent limp mode after a reboot...it just throws a continuous check engine light. Also had a throttle positioner problem at one juncture and some more steering problems like the ones I had on the Rattler. No big deal, I'll visit the dealer this week and we will take a look at things. I suspect a new DPS and another throttle body may soon be in order, but we will see.

Anyway, as long as the Spyder will reboot after such things happen, it can be ridden just fine. We did 540 miles today, about 380 of them after our first incident. BTW, when you have an orange warning flashing in the trip meter box, the whole display shows the warning if you stop moving. It will disappear if you acknowledge with the MODE button. That was a surprise to me. Also, if the whole display shows the orange warning, the fault codes can't be displayed until the warning is acknowledged and the warning reverts to the trip meter box.

If you have not had last year's update done, I highly recommend it. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Annoying is putting it mildly! They disconnected my parking brake and at a gas stop I wanted to get something out of the trunk so I hit the parking brake button forgetting that I no longer had one so I had the annoying orange lights until the next stop. I've driven across the country with the lights flashing at me and it seems that they takeover the whole display at the least opportune time like when you want to know exactly how fast you are going as you pass the trooper taking radar.

We had a nice ride yesterday from Greenville to Southern Pines, NC via South Carolina. We rode with our friends Tom & Robin until we were south of Spartanburg then we separated with them going to Charleston to visit their son and we are visiting our son and his family in NC until Thursday morning.

The forecast here is for scattered thunderstorms through Wednesday so we are hoping that they scatter elsewhere. We should be back in NV on Saturday or Sunday.

We made it back..Had to leave a day early and miss Lamont's BBQ....The wife caught poison ivy at a waterfall and when she gets it,she gets it!...

Made it home on Monday around 2:45pm, I spent Sunday visiting my 87 year old Aunt in Nebo, NC. It was a nice trip. My Spyder did me good.

Cindy & I, can officially say we have arrived home. We left Maggie Valley Sunday morning very early and rode to my sister's home in Seabrook (just a short ways north of Beaufort) South Carolina. We took the scenic way there by visiting several waterfalls.

We left Seabrook this morning and made it home in Sanford, Flarda, around 3:00ish. I had forgotten how the 90 + temperatures can really suck the energy out of you. We had a really great time, met a lot of great people, renewed acquaintences from past events.

One incident we had was when we were passing this big semi truck, this ole boy driving honked his horn and gave us the "Y" sign with his hand. He had a big smile on his face as we did too.

Thanks everyone for the great time.

Chris

Finally got home at 4:15 this morning, great trip, great food, great friends, lets do this again next weekend

Made it home yesterday from MV and the Barbecue around 2 PM. The Spyder ran great with no problems encountered what so ever. On the other hand, my back muscles were pretty sore by the time I got home. It was sure nice to sleep in my own bed last night. I'm going to order an Ultimate seat to see if I can't fix that issue.

I had a great time this past week meeting other Spyder riders and I made some new friends. I'll post what few pictures I have later.

Take care,

Tony
