• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Janet and I left MV at 5:00 with Deb and Brian. Man I hate the rain. 7 hours of it but we made it safe. I know Deb and Brian are still on the road.
Hope everyone made home safe and sound. We had a great time:2thumbs:. Thanks BRP and thanks Lamont for the BBQ.:firstplace:

We got home about 6:30 p.m. This trip took 13.5 hours and it shouldn't have. I think 8 hours of our trip was cold, wet and raining. We were soaked through and through. We even had to pull over a couple of times. I checked my trip odometer that I had reset when we left Maggie Valley and it was about 658 miles. I am just so tired of the rain. Pray for our trip in Aug. to be a dry one please.

Home

I am at my 2nd home in Cinci (with my daughter). I left MV about 9:00 this morning and ran into a humungous thunderstorm going up I-40. Got soaked and, at times, had to slow to 35mph. Then it was OK for awhile until I hit another storm in southern KY on I-75. I'm all dried out now and will probably make the rest of the trip to Stow tomorrow.

Cindy and I made it home this evening too. Rained for about the first 100 miles. Sunshine and hot after that.

It was great meeting everyone. We had a great time. It's going to take a little getting used to going from 70 degrees during the daytime to 98 here in Flarda.

Hope to see ya'll again.

Home again

Yeah I made it Goldwing has a weird problem in the coils or pickups . When it rains it will only run 45 mph tops.
Gotta someday take the tupperware off and find my little bug and kill it:spyder: I got caught on the BRP in the bad wind and rain. About everyone including lots of cars had pulled off. I just kept hammering as usual.
over 100 miles in rain. at 45 I usually ride faster in rain than sun.

Home

I made it to Blue Grass, IA in 13.5 hours. Had rain till Indianapolis. Saw four multi-vechicle accidents in about 3 miles south of Indy. Nobody was leaving extra following space even in the rain. The Spyder VSS kick in a couple times when I hit deep water and hydroplaned. One good use for the nanny.

Sixteen Hours On the Spyder

I'm home but it took 16 hours instead of the 10 it should have. GPS and an error in judgment put me on I-95 (which I SWORE I would avoid) late Friday afternoon. I suffered 17 miles of traffic jam. I'm sore but the Spyder performed flawlessly. Oh, yeah. My Sena battery died just when I had to let my wife know where I was. Not one of my better days.

SWMBO and I got home shortly after 1500. Aside from rain for the first third and Georgia heat for the last third, ride was uneventful.

I did come to appreciate those fleeting instances of cooler air as one passes through the shade of roadside trees.

Rain, then sun!

Margie and I made it home OK (Nashville area). It rained from MV to Nashville for only about 1 & 1/2 hours during the trip. Then pure sunshine and warm the rest of the way.

Thanks to BRP for a great time, and to Lamont for his bbq. Got to meet some of my favorite posters like Lamont, Forrest, DocDuru, Cyncy & Teddy, DLtang (and what's his name), Scotty & Nancy, and bunches of other SpyderLovers who were very friendly. Had Sid and Ann as next door neighbors at A Holiday Motel where we stayed.

This was our first time to attend any event and we had a great time. Seeing all the Spyders and different mods, paint & graphics was priceless.

Hope everyone made it home safely,

John & Margie

Still on the road, taking the (very) long way home. Left late from Cherokee, after the lightning subsided. had to skip the first part of the Pakrway due to fog. Rained on plenty. Have had some Spyder problems, but nothing disabling (although one is worrisome). The trailer leaks like a seive! Have also had GPS and logistics problems. Getting tired of the rain gear. We'll let you know when we land, toward the end of the week (or later). Don't worry, we didn't ride off a cliff. :D

Well Bud make the best of it that you can send a proverbial flare up here if you have worse problems. You should get a break to go north tomorrow stay east of Chicago if it works more rain on the way here tonite but shouldn't hit Chicago till later in the evening Tues.

Jim

Also great to see you again stay safe.

The only problem we had with the trailer was Joe trying to back it up. We rode through plenty of rain and it was dry and the water management kit seems to be working properly.

Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your trip.
