hole in key for key ring

This has been braught up in the past. Its not advisable to drill a hole in the key as thats where they chip is located. Just put the key holder on a keyring and put the key in it.

Each key should have been given with 2 black sheeths that the key snaps into. On the other end is a hole for a keychain.

I guess I'm just lucky. I drilled the sey for a ring the day I brought 1910 home. I didn't know about the chip. It has worked fine since mile 1. I drilled very close to the top of the rubber insert of the key.

I would say contact your dealer and have them get you one for each key. It should have come with them and they should cover the replacement of them if this was a new spyder.

I have drilled a hole in the key. You must be very carefull and drill a hole just big enough for a small key ring. I use my talon alarm remote. You must drill at the outside edge on the silver edging. Do this at your own risk. The ship is in the center, not the edge.

I have seen keys that have been drilled with no problem near the top V of the key with no problem. I have not done this - but hate using the insert thing....and rarely do. I love cutting edge vehicles...but in this respect old school rules - keys should have a hole....
