• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HMF EXHAUST

I have had my HMF slip-on Exhaust since two weeks after I purchased my 2012 RS-S my wife and some of the people I ride with think it's too loud. It's a little louder than I would like and when I leave my garage at 4:30 am some of my neighbors are complaining. I need a baffle and am not sure how it would install or what it would look like any one out there added one to your HMF :dontknow: would like to see photos. jtpollock

We fabbed up some small baffles a few years back but I don't know if it made much difference and I totally forget the measurements.
Take out the 4 bolts from the end and pop off the end cap. You'll see the recessed ring. Measure the diameter and thickness and either look up some specs to match up from some on ebay, talk to a local shop about cutting some rings to weld some baffles to, or do your own fab work.

It's pretty straight forward...

look here

SUMMITRACING.COM sells a few different types of baffles...............you will need to have already looked inside the Muffler to see what will fit tho.....Mike

Mike, did not find anything there but on J&P Cycle I found a Vance & Hines Optional Quit Insert for $17.96 Plus ship if it does not work I am not out that much.
I am not a welder so I can't make on myself, think this worth a try :dontknow:. jtpollock

The inserts have a warning that it is not for the street bike muffler :dontknow: jtpollock
thanks for keeping this going kinda hoping someone might have made this mod
and might chime in :chat: there is always hope!!!

Maybe shoot HMF an email and ask them if their baffles from their other pipes would fit?

They do not sell any solutions, I already contacted them...... And yes, the HMF does thunder pretty loud. I have resorted to rolling my bike down the driveway, as it booms pretty loud.

I found some old pics of the ones we fabbed up out of some scrap piping we had laying around. Minimal change, but they aren't very big either. However, this will give you an idea on what fits and the size of the flange for the HMF pipes. Ebay sells a lot of this kind of stuff too....
