There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. HMF Exhaust Install

Just got in the HMF carbon exhaust in. Pulling the stock exhaust was very easy. Started the bike up for the wife with out the exhaust, was quite entertaining. Three times as loud than my supra with straight exhaust. For anyone interested the stock exhaust weighs in at 18lbs. Will weight the HMF and get it install and post up some pictures.

HMF

From the videos the HMF seemed to be very quite compared to the other systems. Its much louder than I thought it would be, I have similar exhaust on my sport bikes but the delta between stock and aftermarket is huge. I guess the stock was very quite due to the catalytic converter in it. The HMF weights 5.4lbs to the stocks 18lbs. I will try and upload a video, not sure if going to keep it as I work nights quite often and this may be to loud to ride to work near midnight.

Finish: The carbon weave is excellent with no recognizable defects, weld on exhaust is excellent.

Fit: Excellent, tolerances are very close, slip on is perfectly round and mated up perfectly.

Price: Excellent, order directly from manufacture and saved over retailers / ebay.

Shipping Protection: Very well packaged, no damage

Shipping ETA: Less than one week from order to delivery

Sound: Like the sound but maybe to loud to drive out of neighborhood in the late evenings / early dawn.

Instructions: None

Just finished buttoning up after sway bar install and 02 fooler. Just started the spyder the exhaust is awsome sounding but way to loud to exit my neighborhood in the late evening. I don't feel comfortable evening leaving it running long enough to take a video. Did upload a pic, but until I move I will have to keep the stock exhaust on.

Hmf

I also have the same hmf exhaust and found it just a little too loud EVEN with the quiet core insert. This is what I did .I went to a muffler shop and had them extend the quiet core insert with the same diameter tubing approx 8 ' longer this slides right in the muffler and changes the exhaust note considerably .now unless on the throttle it is quite reasonable.:2thumbs:when I roll on it it sounds great.

HMF

awesome muffler for the money, sounds way better than the hindle, and for around $200. you can't beat it, you get a deep rumble, more horsepower, and better air flow.

More hp? The hindle brings stock numbers from 106 to 110...you think this one opens it up even more?? Uh, I'd think it'd be about the same...

hp on the hmf

all the dyno's they have done with the hmf on several different makes of bikes, they say there getting 10-15% gains on hp

I've had mine on for about a week now, and love it. It is louder then I thought it would be, and I definitely won't be starting it in my neighborhood after 9pm!

Fit and finish are excellent, and you can't beat the price direct from the factory. (Free freight too!)

I'll be posting a You Tube video within the next 2 weeks, and will post a link here.

i could not find the quiet insert on their website. what is it called?
and is it louder than hindle with the insert in?
thank you in advance

hmf modification

The insert is called a quiet core ,it is still loud with the insert and thats why I did the modification I described above .it still has good growl ,when you roll on but if ridden gently it is quiet enough for me AND MY WIFE ,she has fussy ears lol. I will try to get an audio file vid for youtube ,and some pics in the future for you.

i just got a email from hmf tech support and he is saying they don't make quiet core for street pipes.
i did notice hmf website only have quiet core for atv pipes but i am assuming it also fits spyder pipe?

i am thinking if hmf muffler should blow up or gets damaged and and had the quiet core in which was not intended for that muffler, they would deny warranty coverage. well i guess i could buy the quiet core from different vendor...:dontknow:

i just got this respond from a ebay vendor who sells hmf pipe.

There has also been an update to the elliptical sportbike exhausts where there is a welded tube insert in the end cap which would make the quiet core an awkward fit.

it seems like hmf would be too loud without the quiet core so i don't know...

I have this pipe on my bike when I bought it, dealer loved it, I found it too loud, bought the 2bros twin pipe with the tips and love it. I can hear too.
