• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hitch install

When my wife was looking,we went to a local dealer. They said no problem after asking her a few questions and having her watch a 5 minute video.
The sales manger had her follow him on a 7 mile ride.

Guess it all depends on the dealer.

They might have figured that Patti was trying to work in a test ride to kill some time while her hitch was being installed... (Or TRYING to be installed... :gaah:)
Perhaps if the SalesForce didn't know about her RTS; they might have been a bit more forthcomign with a set of keys...
Just sayin'

Contact a local trailer or RV shop. If they have a square-4 pigtail in stock, they can ring out the wires (or use your diagram) and have you on the road in an hour or so. I hate to say it, but venting your frustration here repeatedly isn't really productive, although it is understandable. Take the bull by the horns and find another answer. If you are up to doing the work yourself, your local NAPA store likely has the right connector. Pick up some waterproof butt splices while you are there, and maybe some split wire look and some self-vulcanizing (rubber) electrical tape. :D

Yeah, they found that part number as I was checking out! But they don't have that part on hand. My point is that they knew all that they needed to know to have all the parts available and just didn't.

I know I can make that $40 adapter work, but I can't get that adapter because the
pissed-891.gif
parts department didn't try to consider all the parts that may be needed to do the complete job!

BTW, I've edited my post for all the typos.

I just ordered mine from Can-Am and had it in a couple of days. They ship from several different fulfillment centers. http://www.can-am.brp.com/

I'm not as frustrated today, but I'm still angry about the dealer's poor attitude toward service. I know my brother can fix the issue, but I hate imposing on him. I got the 4-pin thing from NAPA this morning. He's gone to the hardware store for some other supplies he doesn't already have and he'll get it working today.

BTW, I had a nice visit with Jim Cannon (boomerkc) yesterday while I was waiting at Starbucks. He was nice enough to give me a ride back to Reno's after they called me. Thanks, Jim.

I've got to call my dealer now... busted microswitch! :gaah:
I met Jim at SpyderFest; one heckuva nice guy; is his foot/leg all healed up now?

Glad you located a pigtail quickly. The wiring diagram in the shop manual can be hard to understand. The wire colors change midway down the trailer. Up front the colors are as follows:

Brown = Running lights (usually connected to brown on pigtail)
Blue = Left turn on 2010 trailer (not used with 4-wire hookup)
Yellow = Unused backup lights (not used with 4-wire hookup)
Orange = Left Brake/Turn (usually connected to yellow on pigtail)
Red = Right Brake/Turn (usually connected to green on pigtail)
Green = Right turn on 2010 trailer (not used with 4-wire hookup)
Black = Ground (usually white or black on pigtail)

Very the functions or connect temporarily and test before making the connections permanent.

Maybe I didn't mention that the arrangements were made Monday for a Friday (yesterday) installation because I'm leaving for Maggie Valley on Monday! Thus my frustration.

I can understand your frustration, you expected to be able to plug in the trailer after the hitch was installed. Wave when you come by SEMO, we are leaving Wednesday for Maggie Valley.
