There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hitch and wiring

Brought home a new RT yesterday and now it needs a hitch. Does anyone here use the show chrome hitch and wiring harness and if so how much of a pain is it to do the wiring?? The hitch install looks easy. looks like running wires to the battery not so much. TIA
While I'm asking questions, what are folks using for loud horns??? The stock ones are a bit weak

I can't help with the hitch and wiring...
But as for horns: The Stebel Nautilus, or Wolo Bad-Boy are about the most popular.
(I've got the Stebel...)
The two horns seem to be identical; find the best price, and you won't go wrong!

I have the Show Chrome Hitch. Easy install works well.

I built my own wiring harness from scratch. So I have never installed a Show Chrome one. From what others have posted it is an easy install. Just something to keep in mind. The Show Chrome harness is power isolated and protects the Spyder from a short in the trailer. It ends in 5 wires and you put your own 5 wire connector on the end. Now if your trailer is a 5 wire (amber turns signals). Then that's it. If your trailer is a 4 wire (red combo brake turn). Then you need to wire in a converter module. These are available at most auto parts stores.

do the horns need a relay or is the stock wiring heavy enough to carry the load??

They do strongly suggest it. nojoke
I just plugged mine into the stock wiring without the relay... I'm not the sort of rider who's laying a "Heavy Thumb" on the horn button in traffic. It's my very in-expert opinion, that the system should easily accommodate such short and intermittent usage without difficulties.
...So far; so good!

I'll do the horns with a relay just to protect things.

Been looking around for pointers or a video on the routing for trailer wiring. There is some indications that there is a direct 12 volt wiring hook up under the seat but I'm not seeing it. Another question is how much tupperware needs to come off to bet wires to the battery??? TIA
