• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hippo Hands or ???

Has anyone found an alternate product to Hippo Hands? We are taking a trip www.crozb.com in a few weeks, and I know I will be cold up North. Was wondering if anyone has tried something else, like ATV equivelant? I like hippo hands, but they are a little expensive, for what they are, in my opinion...

Thanks,

Karla

Karla, something like these universal hand protectors might work, at least to cut down on the amount of wind:

However, I am curious - do you have some sort of medical problem - poor circulation perhaps? It doesn't look like you are going very far "north" and I take it you are doing this trip in August. Not exactly sub-Arctic conditions. Seems to me Hippo Hands or the equivalent would be extreme overkill for summer riding. :dontknow:

We are going about the middle of September. I don't have a medical condition, unless being aclimated to 110 degree :yikes: Phoenix, AZ weather counts! For me, once it gets below 80, I am thinking it's chilly!

I just know that it will be cool at night, and on the coast. Last time we took this trip was May '06, and it was COLD! by our standards, of course...

Plus we ride all year 'round. Going to Death Valley in January, higher AZ elevations all year, etc. I had hippo hands before for my Ural, and they were nice! Yes, I am a wimp, I guess, by some standards, but I really HATE to be cold! :)

I think I'm going to try these this winter.

Yeah, I guess it's all a matter of perspective. I would suffocate in the kind of temperatures you have described!:D
