There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hindle question...

fuel management mod?? I have not heard anyone talk of this before...I thought the Spyder, out of the box, could handle the stock or Hindle without any needs of computer/hardware changes...

The Hindle was designed to add 4 hp to the engine and does not need a power commander or any other fuel management mod unless a free breathing air box/filter is also added.

Are you referring to adding a evoluzone air filter? I have ordered the hindle for a nice 430.00...I intend to do as bjt and other have recommended...disconnect the battery, take off the stock, put on the hindle, let run for 15 min...let sit for a while...and then use bike as usual...

Some person above mentioned that the warranty is longer if dealership does the work but that is only on the pipe, not the bike...not going to worry about that...

My objective was to avoid paying my dealership for an hour or two of work to install the hindle as they said they need to install, calibrate, yada yada...

Can I assume at this point that if I do it myself and follow the directions above, there's nothing more that can be done at the dealership? Are you only recommending that I get a evoluzone air filter (50.00) to really make things run better? I wish they had a k&n but I guess there isn't one yet...the evoluzone satisfies this need?

K@N does make a filter for it but sometimes it doesn't seal right.I had one in mine for a while but ended up changing to Ken's.You might want to change the O2 sensor, that made a big difference and eliminated the popping back through the exhaust.

I have the Evoluzione high performance filter that you mention. For me, that filter made zero difference in the Spyder's engine performance. I guess the benefit of that filter is that its washable so that you would never have to buy another filter. It was touted as having a better fit / seal than the stock air filter but I did not find that. IMO, the fit was just a tad sloppier than the stock air filter. I still have it in and I've had no issues with it but it wasn't a necessary addition, with or without an exhaust upgrade.

After you have the Hindle installed you may want to consider the Evoluzione O2 modifier. Running with an aftermarket exhaust, any brand, will make the Spyder run a bit leaner. The O2 modifier tricks the engine into enriching the fuel mix which may improve the engine performance but decrease fuel economy. I never had the O2 modifier with my Hindle. dltang is running with a Hindle and no O2 modifier. In both cases, we saw no need for the O2 modifier.

I think this is something like what Way2Fast is referring to. Its Evoluzione's other air filter upgrade. Everyone I've heard of who got this also got Evoluzione's fuel pressure mod and their O2 modifier. Needless to say, they also all had some type of aftermarket exhaust installed before they made these changes.

Hindle mufler

Have had the Hindle on for some time now. Simple install. Just follow the directions that come with the muffler.

Nice sound, nice performance, 0 problems.

Jack,

Thanks for your input...I'm hoping to have the same experience as you...someone above on this thread mentioned some sort of high heat seal for the install...did you use anything?

On that note, does anyone know what product to use, if one is truly necessary?

Thanks...
