• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HINDLE EXHAUST

Spyder can do 52 in first gear...:D
I don't even think of using 5th gear until 70 mph--- otherwise it just feels too sluggish--

You don't run your bike up to 52 in first, do you? That'd really be taxing the tachometer...

If you're on the highway at 55mph (okay, slow for you, I know)...you leave it in 4th? I find 5th is smoother and more fuel efficiently once on the highway...

I installed the JB and almost no more popping. I have the Hindel and K&N air filter and the jb has taken almost all of the popping away. KipDM you may want to look into this. :dontknow:

Shifting is a personal issue. Many run the gears up to their max before shifting...I'm not convinced that this does little more than waste gas, unless you're racing and want to be as efficient as possible. I change gears more based on sound and feel...very seldomly look at speed and/or tach...

:agree:

I have run it up that far in first. I've maxed out the rev-limiter plenty of times--- it's there for a reason-- to protect the engine....

I usually run her up to around 7,500-8000 between gears when I'm riding 'Huligan' style.... :D

55--- no question about it--- I'm in 4th gear. 5th just feels like the engine is sleeping at that speed-- I like to have some immediate power available all the time-- without downshifting-- for simple passing, accelerating--- but if I'm in 4th going 55 and really want to pass someone I drop her to 3rd and hammer it.....

Not sure about the fuel efficiency. My Spyder seems to get the same MPG no matter what--- 26 mpg-- whether I'm hammering it or cruising. I do get better MPG in the city as the CHAD kills MPG on the highway.

Yup, I'm with you Dan. Our riding styles appear to be very similar. When I'm just cruising on the Highway I never use 5th gear. Engine just dawgs out and you can't accelerate with any authority. I see no difference in MPG by doing this either. In fact I am of the opinion that MPG improves a bit when you let her rev up a bit. I think it may have something to do with the fact that the engine is running more efficiently. Your covering more miles per amount of fuel consumed also. It's the whole space/time continuum at work! :roflblack:

thnx, no money for mods for a while though...but i do now have HID/Xenon fogs! and my chrome bolts caps put on.

when i DO have enough cash, i plan on getting a 2Bros dual exhaust black series.....mmmmm, so pretty

probably going to add the spyderpops "missing" system too. if needed for the '11's, and from the amount of heat i feel on my foot, i think it is needed.

I did all of the Spyder POPS for air management. Boy is it a different feel, Cool as can be on the right. now for the left :D

I got the JB here on Spyderlovers and tuned it based on what I read here http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=214181

Good luck and enjoy.
