There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. hindel exhaust

I put my hindle back on and it seems to run stronger for sure over the stock pipe. I had it off for a while because the rivets were coming loose and it was rattling alot. I was able to get that fixed and reinstalled it. But like others with the hindle, I also get the backfiring and popping, especially on decel. I Replaced the gaskets in the Y-pipe a couple years ago with the honda ones and they still seem solid. I do have the K&N air filter installed as well. Would going back to a stock air filter help with the lean condition as a cheap to try fix? Otherwise, I may have to invest in the JB. I like the hindle otherwise. I just don't want to damage the engine if it is a case of running too lean.

I just installed it two weeks ago. You can do this. The scariest part is the throttle body "splice in" and that's easy. Give yourself time and message us that have done it and one of us is bound to respond. Hell I'm working graves but I'm PM you my number if need be

pretty cheap

the stock air filter is surely cheap enough to try. a new one at advance auto is eight bucks.

You spent the money for the pipe, seems a shame not to give her a little fuel... 200$ and a couple hours and you will have a entirely different bike.

Something to consider ....

The Hindle was on the bike when I purchased it. I may do that later, as the Mrs. says I have already spent enough on the :spyder2:! Next thing she is wanting is saddlebbags...$$$. Right now, I just want to eliminate the hesitation, and if I can do that for $50, I will.

I got nothing to add to this conversation, but I'd sure love to see more photos of the graphics you did to your RS. It looks awesome! :yes:I couldn't find any posts where you showed more details so let me now if there's one out there.

Other than the de-cel popping is it so lean that it could harm the engine? I'm assuming BRP did some testing before putting their name on this product. I know.....ASS...U...ME!! :roflblack:
They did "some" testing. And "some" bikes run fine with the Hindle and no fuel modifications. Many do not.

Check gaskets, reset the ecu, idle for 15 minutes, make sure your ambient air temp sensor is properly relocated...

In the end, you give it more air, you need to give it more fuel. The stock computer is poorly equipped to deal with the extra air.

Running lean can cause all kinds of damage. Lean = hot. Too hot and it can roast all kinds of internal (and external) parts.

But backfiring mostly does damage to the exhaust itself. If it's extreme it can blow holes in it or dislodge parts.

Good luck.

Just put HMF on with KN filter and PCV with autotune last week....

Ran a long weekend under very hot conditions and the bike has not studdered or backfired once... runs smooth as butter in fact runs much better than stock. I used to have a surge point between 3k and 5k and it is gone and the bike pulls harder.

It is a more expensive route but for me peace of mind and a product that delivers is worth it.

I agree, that's a good looking Spyder!!! And as far as the Hindle problem, I had not heard of this:

Seems like making sure the sensor is in the right place may smooth things out.

Just checked and my sensor is where it should be, too bad....I was hoping for a 'magic bullet'.

I do Daniel....I really do!! Get out the checkbook!! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

ECM update

Would the ECM update do anything for a Two brothers exhaust, Thank's for a reply.

honda gasket?

Ok I put a used hindle on a couple thousand miles back. It does pop on decel but that doesn't bother me. But when taking off quickly it is sputtering like crazy. At first it was only when it was cold now it's any time I'm a little hard on the throttle in first or second gear.
I will try the battery reset but I'd like to replace the gasket. Does anyone know the part number or if i call a honda dealer will they know what I'm asking for?
If that doesn't work I guess I'll get a juice box. I have to do something it's so bad it's dangerous at this point. I guess there's a chance something else may be the problem as well. Any ideas?

I'm heading out to the SITA event in Lake Placid tomorrow morning and decided to remove my hindle exhaust and put the OEM exhaust pipe back on. I've been noticing alot of backfiring and poping myself with the hindle. It still runs good, but I didn't think it was a good idea to keep it on. While cleaning up the spyder today I noticed that the rivets on the front of the hindle were coming apart again and the front of the pipe was falling apart. This may have been causing some leakage which may have contributed to the backfiring. Some of the metal that was holding the rivets was actually worn and breaking apart as well. I guess after having 50,000 miles on the spyder the hindle has served it's time. I guess I will be looking for another performance pipe and maybe a JB in the future. Until then and for now, I'll be rolling in quietly at SITA.
