• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Highest mileage on ONE Spyder

Nice words

Nice words indeed.
Thank you Joe and Mike.
I am certainly planning to make this westbound ride in May. It's all I think about.
When I told the much better half about it she said I should go. Now she's pushing
me out the door! If I can do this it can give me an fortitude to take the ride north
into the U.P. of michigan and Wisconsin to sample the smoked trout that can be found
in abundance along Rt 2. My brother Ken sent me a selfie of him and his BMW in
front of Lambeau field. Now I have to get my camper ready!
At last, maybe I will ride with a destination!
Chuck

Chuck has been written about in two different MC magazine because of his lifelong passion for "Riding Without A Destination"
I can attest to his miles on the odometer, but the remarkable part of the story is he is almost incapable of walking, but his strength of character keeps him moving toward that next non-destination.

Looking foreward to it!

Roomies! I like that. Thanks Mike. If I snore just smack me and I'll roll over. My wife

Normal Wear & Tear Items

I'm glad to hear the Spyders can be so durable. I can imagine there would be normal wear & tear items that would need to be replaced in order to reach such high mileage figures. Things like tires & brakes plus batteries & light bulbs, possibly the final drive belt, liquids like radiator coolant and brake fluid besides the normal oils & filter changes. To me this would be very much like maintaining an automobile for the most part.

I hope to see you on the road in Wisconsin or the U.P. I plan on spending around 3 days exploring roads in the U.P. I have planned on a few of the roads by looking at the web site http://www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Michigan_98.html

Chuck, if you haven't already done so, when you come around the west end of the U.P
if you swing a bit down through Wisconsin, don't forget to check out Door county area,
some beautiful scenic roads, lakeside towns, a Wisconsin Fish Boil, can even take the
Spyder out to Washington Island by ferry. It's a treat! Here's a shot of Sister Bay, WI.
