• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

High RPM at start up

In talking with BRP and a couple of dealers BRP doesn't think that a motor going to 3k at start up is a problem, even their engineer didn't know of the issue. I would like to suggest that anyone with an F3 contact BRP and have them open a ticket. Remember the 2013 RT heat issue. I fear that some of us may be replacing motors due to premature ware and would not be considered a warranty item by BRP. BTW the RT with the same motor but different tune does not have this issue. I thought that it was quite weird when I test drove one for the first time. I thought maybe the throttle was so sensitive and I must have been giving it gas. But now I realize that they all do it, and I'm surprised that BRP is claiming that they haven't heard of the problem.

I think it sounds badass when you start it up with a aftermarket exhaust
I cringe every time I hear my wife's F3 start. I want rpm on a STONE COLD engine to be as low as possible. Critical components aren't yet lubed and oil pressure (thicker oil) is very high. Internal tolerances have not yet stabilized, either.

The same 1330 motor in Sea-Doos revs to around 11000 before it hits the limiter (so I've been told, I don't do boats.).
Although 3000 seems high, on a modern triple I doubt that it will cause damage. I experience the same thing
but having had a couple of triples in bikes in the past I'm not worried.
By all means get your dealer to check the cold start throttle stop position. But don't lose sleep over it.
