• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

High Mileage Spyder Value

Lots of good advise from all the above. I do enjoy that GS, and have added a lot of goodies on it over the years. It certainly would be hard to part with. Right now though, even if I wanted to ride it I woudn'd be able too. My left foot is all numb and I don't have any strength to lift or push on the shift lever. My next spyder will be an SE5 for sure. First and foremost is for me to heal and get my health back. Being out of work and on disability is not something that I'm enjoying. I will know more next week when I go see the spine specialists. Thanks for all the support everyone! It's appreciated.

None of my business but exhaust ALL possible remedies before you ever go under the KNIFE.

Speaking from experience and won't boor you with the details. Let's just say, long ago they installed a zipper for easier access :roflblack:

Original odometer, running twice over 62,138 miles (went to zero miles) before the 2012 update, 71,710 actual reading .
Federal Truth in Mileage Act (TIMA):The Federal Truth in Mileage Act (TIMA) requires sellers to provide actual, truthful odometer readings and to disclose any known inaccuracies. TIMA makes odometer fraud a felony. Failure to disclose that an odometer has been changed or repaired (altered in any way) and/or falsifying mileage documentation will result in fines and/or imprisonment.
Was BRP the original seller?

I'm the original owner of my spyder. It was spring ordered in model year 2008. I didn't get it delivered to me until the end of September of that year. If I remember correctly, the red spyders of that year were a late entry. They had paint issues in getting the paint color correct or something of that nature at the factory, so it took a while for the red spyders to come off the assembly lines.

Let's see..!!

From my relatively short time in this unique world, it seems that the mileage is not as important as the mods and the condition of the spyder. I looked allot prior to buying our RS and the price was pretty even Regardless of year or mileage. Some older units had less mile than newer one but the condition mattered. I also found the sellers to be up front with the condition or problems if any. Most moved on to the RT's. Good luck with the back and finding the new spyder...

Hi there vtrider
I'm 65 this year and bought my Spyder as I have a back problem that stops me
getting on two wheels as often as I'd like, so take your time and you'll find your way
back into the saddle of that very, very fine machine.
If it was mine I couldn't bear to sell it! You take good care now.

MINT !!!!!!!

Shame on you Randy ....I have met Holly and I think she is" MINT ". and Adrian don't even consider selling to a dealer. They will make all the money on it. That Spyder is CHERRY.....Mike

I couldn't bear to get rid of such an old dependable friend that looks that good for what you will get for it. I have an 08 PE with 40,000 dependable miles set up exactly like I want it, it's been nothing but great. I also have a 6 week old STS that I'm waiting on a back ordered ball joint remover tool and alignment tools to come in so I can maybe ride it one day, maybe. Your sciatica should get much better with stretching and therapy eventually, mine did. Unless your absolutely tired of it and ready to change or need the money, I would hang on to it until your sure that's what you want. The grass always looks greener on the other side.

Adrian, just ran across this thread and am sorry to here you are still having problems. I was around for both off these pictures and we sure had some good times. The first pic is overlooking Lake George during Americade and the second is at North Pole Campgrounds during Sita where that famous BlueNight 911 video was made. Hang in there Adrian and wait it out as it seems you have nothing to loose. It sure is a nice Spyder made to your specs. It would be nice to get everyone back together again, maybe Sita again this year. Get well buddy, see you soon.

Ron, I'm not planning on giving up riding. The more I think about it though, and looking at all the advise given, I don't think I will part with the GS anytime soon. I know if I make the mistake and sell her too soon and take a loss I will regret it. Right now I need to put all my focus on dealing with my heath issues. I will know more next week on what is next for me after I visit the Vermont Spine Institute. I've heard good things about this place, so I'm banking on it. I had a cousin that had the same issues with sciatica and back and leg pains. Turns out he had bone spurrs that needed to be surgically removed. It appears that I have the same symtoms, along with a buldging disc that is causing my pain. I just hope that I can somehow recover in time to join in some of the spyder gatherings come Summer.

Adrien
