• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got the offer in the mail with the new maintenance schedule. Also the offer for 40% off the HID lights. Know a lot of you have
Installed better lights but wondered if the BRP lights are worth it at that price.

Feedback appreciated.

I installed them on my RT and won't look back! Now the wife wants them on her LTD. Make SURE you adjust them correctly or you will get flashed by everyone thinking you have your bright lights on :opps: - directions for aiming are included - takes about an hour to install them.

Be sure, if you have them installed by the dealer, or if you do it yourself, to also take the LED running lights out of your original 2012 standard lights, as the HID factory kit does NOT come with these. I know, as my dealer did not change them over while installing my HID's! Now, will have to take it all apart to install the LED's in the new HID housings! GUZZI:sour:

What's the final price after the 40% off??

Ya - this too. My 11 A&C did not have those but I added them at the same time as the HID upgrade:2thumbs:

They list for $1,029.99 so $617.00

I have a brand new BRP HID kit--- still in the box... for the RS & RSS that I'll let go for $450 ----- FREE SHIPPING ---- only for USA shipping....

The advantages to the BRP kit over the aftermarket ones is that the lenses are calibrated to properly disperse the HID light.... and they are plug and play-- no bending of socket tabs, etc.... and that BRP won't give you crap about any electrical problems you might have later down the road..... it's fairly popular to point the finger at aftermarket HID's.

That being said... I've had Xenon Depot kits on my GS and didn't have any major problems.

I had the HID lights on my original 2008 GS. They really lit up the road during the two weeks or so I did driving in the dark (October).

They were very expensive and even at 40% off, they are still a little pricey.

I did buy the regular driving lights for the new A & C--and they were in the $500.00 range plus installation. Even though driving in the dark is rare here for motorcycles, I do like the fact that the front end is more lit up for oncoming drivers.

Brp hid is really good, not $1000 good but I paid $400 and that was about the max I was willing to pay.
They don't disperse light everywhere and are very focused, far reaching light.
Only thing I don't like is they are more like 4300k. They look pretty white at night thou but not as pretty as 6000k. :)

They have been selling on eBay with deep discount after the goofed up price on them by brp to dealers.

Im hoping that you are joking. You want 4300k because at that temp you are putting out more light than at 6000k.

Technically the 4300k should put out the most useable light... but many seem to like the blue/purple look of the others and think they are actually brighter. Heck--- the auto stores make a killing on those 'silverstars' which actually put out LESS light because all they did was tint the bulbs blue!

I like the 4300k best.

The big advantage of the BRP kit is that it is DOT approved. That means it's road legal in the US. Adding a non-DOT approved kit is not. Technically if you're caught with non-approved HID lighting you can be fined. Just saying.

The other big advantage is that the reflector is correctly focused for the HID bulb. This improves the beam and prevents the possibility of light scattering which can blind oncoming drivers.

6000k was plenty bright and it's whitest white with just hint of blue. I know that 4300k puts out most light but it's just does not have that LOOK. Those are 6000k on my avatar and no I don't want the 8000k. Those purple ones are like 11-13000k and not much usable light.
