Am I missing something or does Can-Am no longer offer HID headlights on the RSS?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

They have not made them for the 13 and 14 but there old kit does work with the new bikes with minor modifications . 13s have a small jumper harness off the lights that needs to be modified 14s ditched the small jumper harness but still will work if you have the nerve to modifie the factory harness.

Is there a reason the factory ditched the HIDs?? They were one of my favorite add-ons.
I'm now holding back waiting for the 2015 announcements to see if I will upgrade or not.
I'm confused as to how BRP would get rid of the safe night driving option....

I'm not sure why but they were very discouraging when I called and asked them if the old kit would work. Flat out told me they would not work. My 13 was very simple mod. I talked and walked a guy through the install on a 14 and same basic mod just No middle jumper harness.
I'm like you as far as those lights are they are the best.
I've done very little to my bike but that was the main thing I was adding. Had the dealer add fog lights before I took delivery of it but barely use them. HID s are more then enough

I'm Puzzled ?!
According to a previous post your RSS needs to find a scrap heap? In addition it's in the shop all the time? When do you have time to play with the HID lights?:dontknow:

Hah.... once its running it seems to run fine.
Its a glitch that happens only at start up.... they've stopped asking me to drop it off for diagnostics because the computer doesn't log any problems. Now they only have me drop it off for overnighters when BRP sends them new parts.
But, because I never know if it will get worse I don't take it on extended rides
Its mostly commuting to work and trips to the bar

Well it's good to here you haven't lost your sense of humor yet. Hope you get it taken care of without losing your mind! I've been out your way several times, but I'm still convinced there's no other spyders in this state! After putting on 30K+ I still only see them at the dealer and on an occasional spyder group ride. ( I think they truck the others in for the group ride, because I never see any of them on the road after) Good luck too you.
