• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. HID issues

Has anyone with aftermarket HID kits experienced any problems? I have HID on my Fog and Headlights and they worked fine for a while, then Ihad a fog light go out. Then a headlight. Got them all working again, now neither headlight is working and only one fog light is working. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problems or not. Thanks for any help or information!

Little checking..!!

I have seen several threads on the sudject but don't remember the issues. I do know they can get problimatical and especially the aftermarket ones...:dontknow:

Most of the issued people experience is that the hid electronics cause interference with the spyder computer system which is a totally different issue than this.

There are some long threads on this issue. I had installed a set of after markets on my '12 RS. Nothing but problems. I recently bought a set of gently used BRP Hid's. No problems whatsoever. I hope it works out for you. The computer does not like the ballasts and amp draw from the aftermarkets, no matter what you do to shield the ballasts or move them.....

Suppose I have been lucky. I have the HID headlights and fog lights for about a year now and they work fine. Draw less current than the factory halogens.

I also have aftermarket HID lamps installed in several other vehicles and learned the hard way that there is a wide range of quality out there.

Love mine but occasionally my left one doesn't work. Attribute it to using stock relays tried unplugging replugging anybody know a part number for relay I can get @ AutoZone etc? Usually I just restart bike and they both come on. KB car stuff nice lights

They're nice but sometimes one doesn't turn on??????

I kept stock relays. Could have used theirs but not that savvy on electronics. Definitely worth what they get

Yep me too. I had the KB lights and had nothing but issues. Switched to the OEM lights and realized I should have done it right to begin with.
After have both I can say that there is NO comparison. ...

I have ordered the KB HID kit for my spyder simply because they are a sponser here. So I thought it was a safe buy. Now I find out that they dont work that great for a lot of Spyder Owners. Very misleading for members.

I installed both headlight and fog light HID kits and no problems at all. I had just the head lights in my 2011 and again, no issues. I bought my kits from our sponcer (CB Car Stuff?), correct me if I am wrong.

I did the same thing. Thought..... These things must be a good deal and they sponsor SL and from the thread they have where they continually post "all orders have been shipped" must mean they sell hundreds of these spyder specific kits.
They provide ZERO instruction on how to install on a spyder. They make no mention of the fact that the electronics interfere with some spyders and certain years are more suceptable and they have a filter that is supposed to fix the issue.

What year & model is your machine?

Don't worry about it. You wouldn't have listened to me anyway.
