• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello Friends,

Today, for the first time ever I rode a SPYDER, an RT to be precise.
It was a test ride at the dealer closest to me. ( I believe so any way)
I was amazed!!! I did not think that I would like it. It turns out, I
LOVED IT!!! I thought that I was going to "miss" the feeling of the
motorcycle lean when turning. I didn't at all. I tremendously enjoyed
coming to full stops and not putting my feet down. The 1330 CC en-
gine had plenty of acceleration when the light turned green too. In
slow speed, rough surface turns there is obviously no chance of a
fall down, how perfectly calming that is. I'm 55 years old now, and I
have NO interest in drama when on the road. I want a pleasant and
peaceful experience what ever vehicle I'm operating. The Spyder RT
has made a believer out of ME!!! I do believe you could be safer on
the SPYDER than on a GOLD WING Airbag bike!!! Well, I am here to
make new friends who share this interest in Can Am SPYDERs, and
to learn more about these wonderful vehicles.
For starters, do most of you who own them refer to them as motor-
cycles, reverse trikes, or some other term?

Thank you very much,
JACK

Just spyders my friend, that's what we refer to them and we add the y to things lyke rydes and things lyke that it's just our thing.

:welcome: So, how long till we get to congratulate you and view the pictures of your new 1. Spyder, 2. bike (that is what I call mine depending on...

:welcome:Some, including BRP call them a roadster! I usually just say " My Spyder". You will find lots of great people who have lots of Spyder knowledge on this site. Welcome aboard!

Welcome

You didn't say if you had been reading all the good information on this forum before your test ride. You can get all your questions answered - or hear options and then up to you to decide which way to go. I switched from 30 years of riding on 2 wheels to a Spyder RT earlier this year. I will say I miss taking curves on 2 wheels but after more experience on my Spyder I think I will get over that. Everything else about the Spyder I like much better than 2 wheels!

I bought mine about a month ago and have about 1700 miles on it. I still have a bit of nervousness on the freeway, but love it. I'd thought about Spyders for years. My wife was on the test ride and became a fan. No other bike had interested her.

Welcome!

Whaterver you like...

welcome to this oddly wonderful site. Most commonly refered to as...roadster, trike, reverse trike, bike, motorcycle, three wheeler and spyder, although mine looks like a lobster...:roflblack: you will have occasion to use all those terms but many name them. Mine is our Jag....

Congratulations on your new Spyder. You will find this is the best site for information on your Spyder. You will find that the people here are extremely knowledgeable, and can answer most or all of the questions you may have. Be sure to read the do'and don'ts for new riders. I found it most helpful. Enjoy your new Spyder and ride safe.

Welcome Jack

Congratulations on that first Spyder ride. Sometimes I refer to (aka: Black Pearl) as a motorbike, a trike or a fancy motorcycle. But, from the first test ride it has kept a smile on my face while riding and just walking around it while sitting still. It has a much bigger footprint and lots of lights so it is more visible than most motorcycles and I feel safer on it. I'm 57. I've been riding minibikes and motorcycles since I was 5 years old. The Spyder is a blast!!! Hope you get one in your stable. Ride it like you stole it:thumbup:. Byker (Donnie C.)
