• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Hi
Decided on one , debating the heated grips . It might be doing a ferry hop from eastern long island to ct . Look forward to chatting with members .
Thanks Jody k , clinton ct

Welcome! Nice choice on the Spyder. Can't be much help with the heated grips since I'm in Ca. Yesterday was in the 80's . Clinton CT. You might need them. You know the old saying....Better to have them and not use them, than need them and not have them.

Welcome..!! Welcome..!!

to both the spyder world and this site. Congrats on your purchase :nopic: when you get her...I use heated gloves but those with heated grips can fill you in...

Congrats & welcome

My vote is to go with them. Not used a real lot but when you need them they are worth double the cost easy.

One day you will sell the bike... The next owner will want them. If you don't have them he/she will buy the bike that does have them.

Don't be like that other Rob Lowe. :lecturef_smilie:

:congrats: on your new ride. Heated grips are a nice option when riding in the colder weather. I would opt for them.

Welcome to the PARTEEE! :yes::ohyea::yes:
Get the heated grips. When you NEED them, and have them along for the ride; your hands will Thank You! :2thumbs:

Welcome to SpyderLovers, and congrats on the purchase.
I live in North Carolina and over the past 2 years I have had many occasions to use my heated grips, in fact, I'll probably have them turned on tomorrow for our weekly breakfast ride.

Thanks for the hearty welcome and advice

Will go with the grip advice , hoping a fairly empty ferry that day lol . Wishing all a great week . Jody K

Hi Bob
Will get about middle of week , abit Leary of loading on a ferry as a maiden voyage . But it beats a long highway drive as a new spider rider .
I'm sure will be a fun ride.

It will...
I don't know much about loading and unloading them off of ferries; please be aware of ramp angles and the amount of ground clearance (4.5"), that the bike has.
They've been known to "Stub their noses" at times.

Jody I never thought I'd use them until a few cold mornings commuting from Windsor Locks to Waterbury along 91 and 84 changed my mind in a hurry! !

You will love the heated grips. The ferry will not be a problem. If the angle onto or off of the ramp looks even slightly difficult, do not be shy about letting the staff know that you have a problem and must attack the ramp slowly and at a sharp angle. If you have to hold up traffic, hold up traffic. Everyone will be understanding and helpful. DO NOT BE SHY!

ferry , grips

Thanks guys , taking your advice on the grips , and will be slow with t h e ferry . Will prob try route 1 while getting acquainted with the spyder. Will have some pics shortly , dealer , paperwork tomorrow.

I'm not big on heated much of anything, but I do like my heated grips, and I'm in CA. I think they'd be a no-brainer in CT.
