There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hi, I'm Holly

:welcome: I started out as a passenger with no desire whatsoever to drive our Spyder...but after one season of enjoy the ride I started to get the itch to drive it myself. Two years later and I took my first solo trip to meet up with the Michigan SpyderLovers on a trip to St. Ignace, MI. 1,243 miles later and I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could get the Spyder away from Butch! I think we are going to start looking for a Spyder for me now!

But I still enjoy going along for the ride behind Butch, because then I can take a lot more photos of our trips while we are riding! Taking photos while riding a manual is not very easy to do with my camera...I need to rig up a mount for it and a remote button!

Glad you are part of the SpyderLovers family now and hope to meet you someday at one of the rides.

Welcome to the group. Thank the GOOD LORD, you are not my passenger, a KIDNEY PUNCH FOR WHATEVER REASON, deserves a swift elbow to the throat. Forgive me for being extreme, but what is the purpose of the punch. Are you unable to communicate otherwise ????:yikes:

Nice to meet you Spyderguy1....... I think !!! A swift elbow to the throat? Ooouch ! That hurts ! :yikes: :roflblack: But seriously, I am the antithesis of my driver when on the road in certain conditions, and I value my life a great deal. It takes alot of trust, ( and courage at times ) to be a passenger. You are literally putting your life in their hands.
Don't get me wrong, I have complete faith in my driver's ability, but let's just say he can be a little on the wild side. That is just my PERCEPTION of course. He would say :shemademe_smilie: :roflblack::roflblack: So, when I'm on the back and feeling as though my saftey is in possible jeopardy, it's " fight or flight" that kicks in. And well, since fleeing is not really an option lest I end up as roadkill, fighting is the only other option.:joke: :joke: I practice yoga and one of the sanskara's is called ahemis.... ( kindess and non-violence to all living things).. Yes, I still have some work to do. LOL.;) Our commuication system is nonexistant at this point. We don't have headsets, and since the new exhaust was put on, it makes it really hard to hear each other when going a good clip, especially when the wind is blowing. The KP is mostly a joke !! I have used it only a couple of times. It's just the threat of it that we joke about. :joke: IT'S ALL GOOD. We have talked about getting headsets , and maybe someday I will even have my own :spyder2: Until then, I will try and behave.

Hello Holly how have your been? About time that you got on the forum! When is he buying you your own spyder?????

Hi Shawn.....

I've been good ! Really REALLY enjoyed riding this year and am sad it's coming to an end . We're gonna hold out as long as we can. We're hoping to get a ride in Tuesday. Temp should be 50. Love the :spyder2: and and this forum. Hope to get together with you for some riding in the spring

Hello, HOLLY. I am behind you 110 percent with your regards to safety. Think that if you get behind someone , you should trust them 110 percent, if not , do not get on. If you did get on as a passenger and felt threatened/freaked out/scared or whatever, and kidney punched the operator, THIS WOULD DEFINETLY PUT YOUR SAFETY IN JEOPARDY, ( as the driver would first be shocked and then in pain ) JOKE OR NO JOKE THAT IS JUST PLAIN STUPID. Any way once again, WELCOME>

Hmm, so far 3 pages of 70 replies and over 1,590 views and counting, just for saying "Hi".

Ok Holly (if that's your real name) fess up, is this some sort of psychological experiment to check the "attentiveness" of a heavily male populated motorcycle forum? Because if you think that avatar and photo of you sitting on that Spyder would get any special attention... well it looks like you were right. :opps:

:hun: So forgive me for being dense; but your point is...???

Where's all of that New England hospitality we New Yorkers wished that we had??

I am sure Holly does not hit Randy hard enough to hurt him or startle him either. Knowing Randy if he is pushing the envelope on speed or any other craziness he expects a "little reminder" from Holly. When we used to ride 2 wheelers I would get a "little reminder" if I were doing something that my wife deemed dangerous......it never scared or startled me......I just knew she wanted me to be a little more aware of what I was doing. I think sometimes people are taking things too literal with comments made on here. " a swift elbow to the throat" is not only extreme but rather ridiculous also!!

I saw that comment and pointed it out to her. She said do not post anything towards him and she would "kill him with kindness". So far she is doing great and I'm staying out of it, per her request.

That reminds me of my first experience with intercoms... We've got a road in my neck of the woods that has a fantastic little section of broad sweepers just before you start to climb up a mountain We were on my 'Wing with the aforementioned intercoms stuffed in our ears and I started dragging the floorboards through the sweepers... About the third time that the sparks started flying, she screamed, "SLOW DOWN!!" into the mic... :yikes:
That was it for the intercoms...
I'll take a kidney punch for "behavior modification" any time! :opps:

Besides; She's an RN so the damage can always be repaired! :D

Green Glasses

Hi Holly, welcome to Spyderlovers. There are a lot of great people on this forum as you already know.

One question. Do you view the world through green colored glasses like Randy?:roflblack:
Hi MXZ.... Does this answer your question?? ...... ( Randy is in his own world tho ) :roflblack:

Welcome to the forum Holly! It's good to know that I'm not the only one that has to "kidney punch" her hubby for misbehaving while riding. ;) I've rode for 28 years on the back with hubby (mostly HD's) but I now (just this summer) ride my own Spyder and love it! You're young yet, I'm getting up there in years....ya never know what life brings!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR OWN SPYDER CHICKRIDIN !! I really do hope to be able to do that someday..SOON.... Last year I bought an MP3 Piaggio. We bought it online and drove t NJ to pick it up. It was a 3 wheeled Italian scooter. It had 2 wheels in the the front and one in the back. But the wheels in the front were really narrow and close together. I thought it was going to be stable like our :spyder2:. NOT !!! :yikes: I took it down the block and said " Wow, this is great " Got to the stop sign, and ......well lets just say, I didn't put my feet down, and :opps:......you know what happened. But, I stuck with it for the summer. What I didn't realize in the beginning was it leaned EXACTLY like a 2 wheeled motorcycle. You could lock the wheels for stabilizaton only if you were going 5 miles an hour or less. So you had to pay attention to your speed and then push the lock button. And your wheels had to be perfectly straight in order for that function to work while you were moving. I stuck with it through the summer and dumped it twice more. I finally decieded it wasn't for me...... But I was really happy I gave it a try.
Randy has been trying to get me to start learning to drive our Spyder, but I am a chicken. :barf:I have never driven a vehicle with a standard transmission , so I am hesitant to learn on the SM5. Ultimately I would l love to have my own SE5 ( Neutron Green ).2012.... But if a was going to remain a passenger..... Definitely an RT.......:2thumbs:. Good luck to you with your new Spyder and :congrats:
