• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can am spyder

I have a 2013 can am spyder I just bought recently with 16,000 miles
I recently couldn’t get it to upshift from first gear. Took to a dealership they said the previous owner was using the wrong oil and not changing it. Said the valve cover gasket is leaking oil and this is causing the shifting issue. They said need to replace the gasket if not would have to keep adding oil quite frequently to it. $1800 to fix mostly labor. Any suggestions or comments

Please read the first post, and especially the bit where it says:

Now that your account registration and all your joining processing has finished (we know that cos your username has changed colour to Blue, signifying that it's all complete! ;) ) you can post out in the more frequented areas of the Forum; but please, do search on this question first - there's a few threads already about being unable to shift in the manner you describe, and using the incorrect oil is often at least part of the cause! :lecturef_smilie:

Usually, if you haven't ridden your Spyder too far &/or too long like that, simply changing to the correct oil can resolve the gear change/selection issues, but sometimes, if it's gone on for longer than just a short while, the answer can be more complex & expensive to repair! So it's well worth your while to do the search and read at least a few of the existing threads - you might even find that there's no need for you to start a new thread about it at all! Besides, adding more threads asking/discussing the same thing never really helps get a better answer; usually means no one thread has ALL the answer in it; rarely gets any significantly different response; makes it even harder for everyone/anyone else trying to find the same info/answer the question now &/or later on; and is somewhat rude & inconsiderate to those who've already answered the same question before a few times & now you expect them to do it again, all for the lack of effort on your behalf to even look and see if yoyr question's already been asked &/or answered! :sour:
