• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks for the welcome. Not an owner (yet). Took a demo on a Sea-to-Sky RT Limited Friday. Different, smoooth, comfortable. I could see it replacing our '06 GL1800 in a couple years (I'm 68 right now). Would probably adapt and repaint our Uni-go for it as we really enjoy that we can roll it into the room and unpack there. Just keep rain and other riding stuff in the bike. Friday was my first time on one, and the normal "twitchy" feel for a biker was going away by the end of the ~40 minute ride. SWMBO still has to set on and approve the throne. I think we can still use the GL1800 for another year, as we don't have any long trips planned, just Barber in the Fall, and that is only a couple hundred miles. At our age the 'wing is getting a bit to maneuver, and I find myself avoiding gravel lots when two-up.

Welcome to the forum Pidjones. I hope you enjoy it. You can find lots of good information here on the different models of Spyders and Rykers in the different areas of the forum. It will take a little getting use to when come for a two wheeler but well worth the move. Let the machine hold you up for a change even when you come to a stop at the red light just sit back with having to put your foot down to keep everything up. I hope to see you around the forum soon. Good Luck looking for your next Ride and make sure its co pilot approved.

Thanks! I should fit in here Ok. Been on GL1800riders.com since about 2006. Still have a GL1800, two GL1000s, and now an RD400c (got its first start yesterday!). The 1800 and one of the 1000s will have to go to make room for a Spyder.
