• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi Spyder lovers...

HI guys, I have a spyder Rs Sm5 2011.

I have just put all new rear wheel bearings in 3 of them and it all went good.. I have the workshop manual and followed it to do the rear wheel alignment. I jacked it up on the frame and loosened the spindle bolt and and set the tension first with a cricket. I adjusted the belt to get 1.5mm gap on the rear sprocket by jacking it up on the frame and run in 1st gear then reverse gear as per manual instructions. I then torqued up the the spindle nut to 130nm.. all good.. but then when i rode the trike the belt keeps changing and closing the 1.5mm gap to 0mm and when I go into reverse the gap goes a little bigger but then goes to no gap when riding. I have adjusted it lots of times but it keeps changing and I cant get it to the correct gap. I dont know what im doing wrong.. Can anyone help me with it... Thanks CAIILEl...

Hi CAIILEL, welcome to the Forum. :welcome:

You probably won't get too much more in the way of answers about this in this section of the Forum, cos in response to SpyderBOT's request (highlighted above) no-one really expects you to post questions in here.

However, you won't be able to post anywhere else until all your joining processing has been completed and your account is finally approved tho, which is when your username will turn Blue, like SpyderBOT's - still, it usually doesn't take too long for that to be finalised, rarely more than a day; unless you've gone out of your way to hide/obscure your identity/presence elsewhere on the internet, in which case it might take longer to check & confirm that you really are who you say you are! ;)

All that said, if you do a little searching & reading up on what's already been posted to the Forum about belt alignment moving, changing in reverse, or anything along those lines, you'll find that not only is what you're describing common, but it's also pretty much normal, and even expected!! The belt alignment on these things will move around a lot during use; it'll move even more when reversing; so it's best to just set it right, and then don't over-think it &/or worry too much, just check on it every now & then to make sure it's 'about right' every time you stop, but only after riding forwards (and NOT after reversing!! :banghead: ) and make sure that it's not running off the edge of the front or rear pulley/sprocket or up the guard on the wheel side at the back. :2thumbs:

Looking forward to seeing you posting out there in the more frequented public pages soon.
