• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Here we go again

I have to replace the rear shock on my 2012 RS-S again. I am wondering if anybody has installed the rear shock from an RT on an RS with any success. I am getting tired of blowing out these cheap oem shocks, and have no interest in paying $500 for an aftermarket one. I will buy whatever I have to.............but got a little sticker shock when I went shopping.

Just sayin'............

The RT shock won't fit and is probably way to stiff anyway. I would highly recommend the Progressive rear shock for the Spyder. Fox and Elka also make shocks for your RS. You can keep throwing money away on OEM rear shocks. Or bite the bullet, get a better product and stop the bleeding!

Of course, once you feel the improvement in the back. You may start feeling the need to make the same improvement in the front! Farkle-itis!

Thanks Ron :D. It should be here by the end of the week.

I clicked on the link and did not pay attention, the shock in that link is for a GSX-R 1000. I realized it after I got it, and had to return it. The good news is that Jeff at MX South, where I bought it, gladly took it back with no fees, and ordered me an Elka stage 1. I should be back in the saddle very soon.

Just sayin'............

Good to Hear.....

Glad you found a good replacement shock. interesting that progressive does indicate that the 465 series is for the rear of the GS/RS but you cannot find it. Fortunately my RS oem shock is holding up but has 35, 000 on it and the fronts are now Fox. May have to change soon ...

Did I hear you ere coming out to SpyderQuest this year? If so, we will have to compare notes when you get here.

I am very sorry. I see what happened to me clicking through the same process. I clicked on the Spyder shock (Part #465-1180) but it switched me up and the page that loads has this 465-1181 rear shock and I didn't pay attention and posted the link. Looks like this is a discontinued item.

I spoke to the folks at Progressive last week. Currently they don't offer rear Spyder shocks, only the front pair. I placed an order with Elka yesterday for front and rear.
