• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Help

2011

Sent from my Z958 using Tapatalk

I think it was 'The Help' that was a period drama film released in 2011 which told the story of a young white woman who enlisted the aid & memories of some local coloured 'maids' (or 'the Help') to write about the racism & treatment of 'the Help' as they worked for white families..... ;)

But I'm not sure that's the info you were after....

Well, let's start over. There's a P0606 code. And there's a P060D code. But there's no P0606d code.

What's your dealer telling you and what have they done so far?

The P0606D has to do with the Throttle Accelerator SEnsor

No, that's my point. P0606D doesn't exist. Too many digits. My listing shows that code as P060D, not P0606D. Just one 6, not two. So, if the OP comes back on and provides some more info as to what's going on with the dealer, perhaps we could add something. A forum search for P0606 comes up with only one hit that wasn't relevant.

Well, at least they're not replacing the ECM...yet. But, if the code they're chasing down is related to the Throttle Acceleration Sensor (TAS), they replaced the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). The TAS is inside the throttle grip on the handle bars. It's actually two magnets and a double output hall effect sensor for redundancy. All that means is that it is the sensor that tells your ECM how much throttle you're asking for. If one or both of these fails, however, you typically get additional TAS related codes. The TPS, on the other hand, tells the ECM the actual position of the throttle plates. So, the TAS is what you're asking for, and the TPS is what you actually get. And, of course, the ECM is involved in controlling and monitoring the entire process.

Now, if there is a wiring harness issue between the throttle grip and the ECM, that might not be that expensive. I don't know. But, if they haven't investigated the sensor at the throttle grip yet, I think they should. It could be a simple problem.

If it was me, and I had the machine back in my possession, I would try a different dealer. After two months with no results, I would trailer it someplace else. If that's not a possibility for you, you would also want to contact BRP Customer Care and get a case opened on your problem. Give them all the pertinent info. Word is that they're pretty good at responding to the email.

It must be beautiful riding this time of year in Oklahoma and I know this is frustrating being without your ride for all this time. Take an active role in getting this resolved whether it be with this dealer, another one, and BRP. Other's on here may have some additional feedback for you so check back.

I'm guessing here... but I'd be looking for a bad connection, or a busted wire first.
Good luck!

"Carbs & Cables"?
