• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help!

4k or higher

When I got my 2010 RTSE5 I had no prior motorcycle experience and absolutely no mechanical experience. But I had many decades of driving shift rigs and loving to shift. And as a side note I hate to read manuals :yikes:. My first 5000 miles was pure learning experience. I was shifting it low RPMs I would have pregnant pauses I would have clunking noises it just did not sound healthy for the transmission. So read the manual could not believe the high RPMs they were stating so call my dealer's tech questioning what I read in manual and he laughed and said try it... that was the beginning of my enjoyment of my SE five transmission. At almost 32,000 miles I now shift by sound but I notice it's close to 4200 RPM or higher.. also I would say at least 90% of the time I paddle downshift do not rely on the automatic. Shifting is now smooth and silent (except R and 1st-always clunk) :dontknow:
and then there is the other thing to understand about the Spyder transmission...they do like their oil so if you noticed anything wonky about your Spyder not wanting to shift correctly. Make sure you give "her" a couple minutes to warm up, REGULARLY (per manuel :roflblack::roflblack:)is check the oil level and change oil and filter per maintenance schedule (according to oil used..my choice is Amsoil).
This is my experience trust me I just flat luv ryding Ms Spyder and hi rpms keep her happy
so glad you and your dad are ryding and are here on SL'S.
