Help!!!!!!

alright everybody,
Now mind you.... I am no rocket scientist but I have removed a few thousand battery's before. I am trying to disconnect my negative battery post connection. I have gotten the bolt loose but can't get it to come out.......What the sam hell am I doing wrong?
And if you don't know the answer to that.... How in the heck do you get the bolt to tighten back up? AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!

It's just a threaded nut that the bolt goes into. Should come right out. :dontknow:

It will not unscrew nor can I get it to screw back in.

Nut square or hex?

My only guess is the nut is moving with the bolt. Anyone know if the nut is square or hexagon shape? If it is square, it will possibly be easier to keep from turning.

Nice customer service....NOT in my opinion.

The bolt I was speaking of is under the seat on the Negative side. I ran by the dealership. They looked at it for two seconds and believe it is stripped. No matter..... They can't get to it before a week. Now that's customer service. It is still connected to the battery so it is charging. When I take it in for it's 6000 mile tune up, They are going to take care of it then. Hope it lasts a week.

That bolt you are turning has a nut on the backside ,I think it is a 10 mm you can get at it if you take off the right side panel, its up by the fuse block.Been there done that You want to access the battery from the left side behind the rear panel.

The bolt I was trying to remove under the seat..... by unscrewing that bolt, would I be disconnecting the negative ground?
The only thing I was trying to do was disconnect my negative battery connection for 20 minutes so my computer will reset with my new Hindle installed. Thanks. Jerry

The connection under the seat isn't the 'real' ground - you should disconnect right at the battery. Also - if you loosen the one under the seat it can be a bit of a pain to re-tighten.

If you're hooking up anything like a battery tender, etc - you should hook it directly to the battery - not that connection under the seat.

I am going to guess that the connection is not very tight? If so, you stand a chance of not getting a good enough charge to the battery and, as has happened to me on 2 occassions on motorcycles, you won't know until you hear that infamous "click" when you hit the starter.
You rode to the dealer, they looked at it, and they couldn't take a few minutes to correct a simple matter like that? They must really be backed up! Makes you really feel special, doesn't it? Can you just saw off the bolt, get another nut and bolt and fix it?
