• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help with RT comfort seat installation?

ARtraveler

R.I.P. Dwayne
I just got the comfort seat for akspyderlady's RT. I am having a problem getting the stock seat off. I have installed two Corbins and one comfort seat on other :spyder2:,s--but this one is giving me problems.

Problem: I am able to disconnect the shock per directions, no problem with the passenger weight switch--but I cannot seem to get at the two rear bolts to remove the seat off the bracket.

I can barely get the ratchet with a 10mm onto the bolts and even with the seat lifted as high as I can get it--it seems that I can get about a 1/16' of a turn each time on the bolt.

Am I doing something wrong here? Suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

:chat: When Des sends you an Ultimate seat, he suggests getting a Stanley 3/8" ratchet model # 89-962. You twist the handle to ratchet, not back & forth. That way you get it down in that

limited space & twist. Got mine at Walmart, worked fine.

My service tech used one of these. It was slow but worked well.

I worked from both the top and the bottom with a standard ratchet, one or two clicks at a time...UGH! Be sure to cover the two holes and long slot with masking tape or stuff rags to avoid nuts, bolts, and aluminum sleeves dropping in.
