• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Went and picked up an I-POD NANO for the ST today and I can hear the music but cant control it from the bars:banghead: :cus::cus::cus:. I used the 1 pin plug to hook it up like head phones. Is there a special adapter that I need for the multi pen plug so it will work right?? Id hate for someone else to waste there money trying to get things to work right. My droid worked the same way,not what I was wanting. The book says I can use the NANO so what am I doing wrong. YES I have both sets of plugs. Hope someone can help us out on this deal.

Thanks for the help !!!!
Eddie

Dealer didn't give you an IPod style (flat) lead? ST has a plug in the back?

Sent from my home in Central Texas!

You need to use the other style plug, the flat plug.
Do you have a brand new IPOD ?
I understand Apple makes a converter from the new style plug to the old style flat plug as well.
The jury is out on whether the Spyder can control a new style IPOD if it's connected through the adapter plug and the flat BRP cable.
I've read posts that say it works, and posts that say it doesn't.

NEW mp-3 Nano's wont work.

Yes its new and I think I figured it out whats wrong, its a gen 7 I-POD. All the I- pods at are Wal-mart wont work because the flat pin wire wont fit. THEY CHANGED THEM UP the pin hole for it is MUCH SMALLER.The classic will work but not paying $250 for an I-POD. Ill call Apple in a few and see if there is an adapter of some type. let there be 1 and let it work !!!!!!

Yes I have both wires so if there is an adapter Ill let you know either way..

I should be getting my ST soon and I will need to know this...my iPod - Nano is a few years old...Best Buy...I'll watch this post

There is an adapter... they can be bought at Wal Mart, or Best Buy. It has the small lightning connector on one end, and the 16 pin..or whatever it is on the other end to plug into for the Spyder. I have that setup with my Nano, and it works. I can select playlists from the controls up front, and the LCD can display what is playing.

And I have to put out a great big THANK YOU to Apple for changing this up, and forcing all of us to have to buy this stoopid adapter just to make things compatible....

Update on the mp3 NANO GEN 7

Well I have some good news:yes:. IT WORKS, IT WORKS!!!!! The new NANO I-POD GEN 7 does work on the ST:spyder2:. You do have to use the lightning adapter which plugs into the flat bar plug sold at wal-mart for $29.00 then to the I-POD. The controls work fine just like they said it should. So glad it works:pray:!!!!!!
