• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help with a seat and rear luggage rack please.

We love our 2013 RT Ltd, but at 33,000, it sure is a poor seat. Lots of other bells and whistles that all work well, and add to the enjoyment. Not a great seat though. Corbin or Ultimate are the only ones I've seen so far. And the large chrome rear rack I keep seeing on sites. Has anyone used one? Would appreciate any help please.

I have the rear chrome rack from Big Bike Parts (about $135.00) and am well pleased with it. i will try to put up a photo of it shortly. Can't help on the seat as i have the 2014 RTS and the new seat is a lot more comfortable.

:welcome: Either Corbin or Ultimate can certainly do a good job, of making your hind-end happier... :D
Give them a call, and you might find that they'd be more that willing to discuss your seating problems, and work up a solution for you! :2thumbs:

I put a Corbin seat on one of my bikes a few years ago and found the result to be totally unsatisfactory. When I ordered the seat, they were very helpful. Once I got it and it didn't fit on the bike properly, they were less than no help and had no interest in resolving the issue. After several hours of working on the seat pan to make it fit, I found the seat to be less comfortable than the stock one. I rode on it for about 25000 miles and never did find it to be the equal of the factory seat. The best aftermarket seat I have ever had was made by Diamond. It was on one of my Goldwings and definitely superior to the factory seat. It eliminated the famous Honda butt problem.

You might look at the Russell Day Long seat, :ohyea: It works for me. They are the seat of choice for people over 250 lbs.

MY understanding is the Corbin seat is hard and made to fit the bike not the individual. So I would look an Ultimate. Don't know if Diamond makes one for the Spyder but definitely worth a phone call.

Chrome luggage rack

Also check the sponsor page for value accessories. I bought mine from them a couple of months ago, they had many in stock, so no back order issues. Great customer service. 121.95 is their asking price. Hope this helps.

I am looking for a nice trunk rack as well, I had the wire rack made by one of our sponsors on the last bike and it served me well but it looks a bit crude. I want to see my 3rd break light when done so the ones that follow the angle down wont work even though the style and finish are perfect.
There are two other styles I found as well but neither are look right, the one mounts to the side of the lid and looks too bulky, the other mounts to the top of the lid but the legs coming down are ugly. I understand these are called Spyders but I don't want anything that looks like a spyder web or pictures of "spiders" as part of the design.

just installed the Ultimate seat with driver backrest, looks awesome but haven't had chance to ride with it because of weather.

Diamond R may have what you're looking for. http://www.diamondraccessories.com/canamspyder/proddisplay.php?name=Standard Trunk Rack

Big Money, but the 2014 Comfort seat from BRP will fit the 2013 RT Ltd.

I am not trying to step on your post as it is most accurate. :2thumbs: Every one makes choices with there purchases based on personal abilities and riding preferences. I am just pointing out that the base Russell Seat is slightly more than the BRP comfort seat.

BRP Comfort Seat $599.00 With NO comfort guarantee (one size fits all)

Russell Day Long all vinyl (same as BRP), custom built for the size and weight of the driver and passanger (up to 250lbs each) and a 100% comfort guarantee $650.00 (built on your seat pan shipping not included).
Other options available at extra cost.

I really appreciate your help. The rack does look good, and certainly large enough to function, as intended. Does your co pilot like the armrests? I've been looking at those as well. I was just concerned about their strength, as the mounting point is so far from the rests. Should this concern me? It sure is nice to get real help and support, from people, such as yourself. It seems the manufacturers and retailers are good at posting all the positive reviews. Thanks again!Mark

Many thanks

I appreciate your help. Nice ride in the photo. I was not a huge fan of the copper color, at first site, but it sure does grow on you. Thanks again.Mark

I appreciate your response, and thanks for the heads up! It seems, more and more, that customer service is falling apart. Everyone wants your cash, and then they kick you to the curb. I live in Canada, directly across from Ogdensburg, NY, but do 90% of my shopping and travelling in the USA. I have done recent business with Bass Pro, in NY state, and they are fantastic to deal with. Before, during and after the sale. Other retailers could learn a lot from them. I will be cautious of Corbin, after your experience. I hate dishing out big money for something that doesn't fit or work! Thanks again. Mark

Thanks for reply. Now I have another option. I will look into Russel Day. It's a real shame to dish out the money for a new machine, and then have to spend even more make it more enjoyable. The handlebars really blew me away. They should be adjustable from the factory. Thanks again. Mark

Thank you, for your advice. I will shop around a little more, before I decide. It's a lot of money to dish out and I would just like to be certain that I'm getting the best one. The best one! Thanks again. Mark
