• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help! upper console removal

Trying to install risers for 8 legs and can't find the cable needed to make the grips on the risers. I got the trunk removed and the instrument unit removed along with boot. Still no luck finding the ball of cables to remove the zip ties. I'm thinking about removingthe upper console to get a better look inside. She has an SE and the right side seems to have enough cable but not the left.
Help Please:bowdown:

under the right cover take it off and look under where they come down there is a wire tie holding your cablesmove cable up down you well see the cable tie cut it and you well have enuff to move it to the risers are .lamonster has a vido on it look in the help vidos in shop talk or call him .

In my experience, those cable ties aren't necessarily put on in specific locations. I had to search around and trace cables to find the offending cable ties. My tight cables / cable ties were mostly in different locations than they were on dltang's Spyder. :dontknow:

Thanks guys. I agree Brian. They are not where they were when I did mine and John(retread) says the same thing. We will find it somehow. Just frustrating. 8 legs has a 70 mile ride when we button it up and rain is starting. Not what she bargained for. Thanks again for your help.

:-). LOL. :roflblack:
After seeing all the trouble they had, I am so glad John & Dick offered to help. There is no way on this planet I could have done this by myself. Did see the dealership did not install the temp sensor so I'm calling them in the morning. I haven't been really happy with their knowledge of the Spyder. I thought because it was a new product it might take them a little time to learn the machine, but if they can't follow simple instructions on setting the Spyder up for a customer maybe I need to find another dealer. I'm still on the fence with this one. At my 600 mile service I asked them to fix the 12v plug they installed in the trunk, they said they would fix it, after returning home I checked it and it still did not work. I had to read the forums to fix it myself. All they needed to do was install a fuse. Was it hard? No, but it should have been done right the first time.

Ok, I'm finished complaining about the dealer.

I would just like to say that the Spyder community is the only group I have belonged to that would go out of their way to help someone else. Dick and John gave up their day to install my risers, & Brian (bjt) hooked up my triple play at Scotty's cookout. A few Spyders may have some faults, but ALL the Spyder RIDERS I have met have been top notch :firstplace:. Thank you all for allowing me the pleasure to be your friend.

:thumbup:Glad you got your risers installed and all is well with the :spyder2:.

It's unfortunate that a lot of trouble we are having is with the lack of knowledge that the dealers have. I don't know how many times i was the first one with info about the :spyder2: at the dealership. I know it's a complex machine but if you don't know find out don't give me shovel full of hooey . Sorry for the rant . I know there are a lot of good knowledgeable dealers out there and to them i apologize.

Still one heck-of a happy :spyder2: owner.

I'm still a very happy Spyder owner too. Despite some issues others have had, I'm not going to throw in the towel. I have goodies sitting in the garage and more on the way here. My spyder will look different in the spring. At least the goodies I have now I can do myself and I am looking forward to it.!!

I'm with you on this. Nothing turns me off of a salesperson or a serviceperson (really just about any type of person) faster than one who won't say "I don't know" and tries to run a line of junk on you just to appear like they know it all.
