• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Help........shifting problem!

Went for a ride today on Pearl (2011 Limited) and had a problem with the bike shifting into 2nd gear. After a few minutes I did get it to shift to 2nd the 3rd, then 4th but would not go into 5th. I stopped, turned off for a few minutes then proceeded to make it home. Same thing except it would not shift any further than 3rd gear. Got stopped by a red light not far from home. Had to come home in 1st gear. No codes showed up, no lights flashed.......nothing. When I got home, checked the oil. It was a tad low, but well within range. Have any ideas before I take it to the shop? :(

Check the oil at ''full operating temps'', And according to the manual. Sometimes if your oil is a little low, the trans will not shift properly.

I had the problem. We have hydralic clutch lever. Mine was low and had air in the system. Blead the line added Dot 4.. Clutch works fine and no more trouble shifting from gear to gear.

Maybe a dumb a question, but was the :spyder2: within each gear's RPM shifting range? I thought I had a problem once because mine wouldn't shift into 2nd gear, until I realized that I wasn't going fast enough to warrant needing to be in 2nd gear. With a manual transmission it doesn't matter, the bike will shift into any gear you tell it, but with the SE's it's a bit different. At least, that has been my experience.

Problem solved..........it was the oil. Didn't have enough in it even though it was within range. filled her up and she's good to ryde! Thanks for heading me in the right direction.
