• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help Seat stuck

Wiggle the seat back & forth near the front of the seat. Put your knee on the seat toward the front. Make sure the key is down pushed all the way and turn clockwise. let off with your knee and try to lift. Hope this works for you.

Stuck SEAT!!!

Had the same problem. Take a long piece of wire and bend a loop in the end. Lift the end of the seat and you will be able to see the latch. Hook the loop into the latch and pull. I now have a nylon wire tie hooked to mine as I can not get into my service dealer for service as they are too busy. Hope this helps.:banghead::banghead:

Good advice above. An irritant but usually not an ongoing problem. The latch may need some adjusting. The pin on the seat can be shortened or lengthened with a twist of a wrench.

It's tough to get old

Thanks for the help.

I came here with the "seat won't open" issue. I too was turning the key the wrong way. You save me a 23 mile ride to the dealer, and I avoided looking really stupid. I have only had my RTL for a month, but that is no excuse

thanks again:bowdown::bowdown:

Too Long and Bent Post

I had the same problem but the key would not even turn in the correct position. Finally got it open and it was clear two things happened: the post had been adjusted too long and the second part of the post had gone into the seat post hole; the post itself was a little bent so it went in crooked. I made the adjustment by shortening the post so only the first nub went beyond the latching slide and then made the decision that if that became a problem again, I would just do away with the post altogether and let a thief try to siphon the boiling gas. It won't come up in the wind and it doesn't rely on the seat latch to be in the right position.
