• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HELP... Removing Handlebars...

I'm looking for how to remove the handlebar assembly. I've searched the forums, and haven't given up yet, but I thought I would post here as well.

I've removed the four obvious bolts underneath the center area. I assume I need to remove the ignition switch... How?

Seems to have not loosened up anything. The silver cover is still sitting on there and won't budge.

UPDATE... Found http://www.kewlmetalstore.com/download/pdf/Spyder-Pull-Back-Bars.pdf

I'm going back into the garage after those two extra 8mm bolts. Buggers. Still, any tips and tricks are appreciated.

For the 2 Hiding (Near the ignition) you need a long ,slim 8mm with a 1/4 inch small rachett. There sort of in a hole or tube! Good Luck?

Yeah... Man.. I have all of that and I can't for the life of me get that socket on them. Seems to need the perfect turn of the bars/alignment, and I haven't found it yet.

Got one... They actually are not that bad to get to... I was reaching under and feeling something else that felt like a bolt head...

This might also help

The rubber part that wraps around the bars will move, if you move it out of the way you can get to the bolts better. I had to buy 1/4 inch deep sockets to get mine off. You are right you also have to have the handle bars turned correctly. If you look on my profile I have posted a picture of the removed cover so you can see where all the bolts are.

Thank-you!

Got them all off and handle bars removed/moved... Now just putting on the Helibar risers...Should have most of it done tonight if not tomorrow. It is the only thing standing in the way of my riding!

:congrats: Your good!! It took me 2 afternoons to get them off?:roflblack:
The 2nd afternoon I had the right tools. When they came off I Looked to the Heavens:pray: " With Gracious Thanks!"nojoke

I'll say this... I learned a lot today. I wish I'd had some of you there telling me a few things now and then...

Those bolts that hold the center cover to the bar clamp... You have to be careful not to over tighten them. I got the distinct feeling that I could easily strip them if I wanted to.
