• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. :helpsmilie:Hi everone,
Do any of you have a picture of the R35 Saddlebag Brackets installed. A close up perfred if possibe. I am searched all the forums but unless I just missed it there are none of just the brackets install with no bags. The directions just don't cut it for me. but then I most always need all the help I can get.
thanks.
If you have pictures you can just email them if you feel like it.
[email protected]
thanks.
Leo
P.S. This may sound crazy but in the instructions don't make much sense. page 4/10 says 1. on the RH rack reinforcement install rubber gromment to the muffler bracket. shows picture. 2. locate the upper frame bracket where the passenger foot peg support is attached. 3. remove screws ect. 4. align the reinforcement upper mounting holes and the front support mounting holes with the holes in the upper frame bracket.
5. thread provided M8X30 screws to the hold reinforcement adn front support in place but do not tighten yet. then the picture shows the battery. I thought we were on the right side. which side are they talking about? 1. says we are working on the RH side and 5 is showing a picture of the left side. which side is which. the muffler which they are talking about in 1. on the RH rack reinforcement install rubber gromment to the muffler bracket (which to me is the right side of the spyder. 5. they have switched to the left side.
Am I nuts or did they switch side mid-stream.

The BRP version is not the same as the GIVI set - on the GIVI set you have two bolts on top (under the seat), and the main exhaust hanger bolt. Also, there is a hole where one of the plastic push rivets goes - you have to remove it, then put it in, after the bolts are in place.

The brackets are a tight fit, and some finesse is required to bolt everything together.

While I sold my RS, and this is from memory, I had to take the brackets off several times for various projects….

BTW, buy the ESI LED lights for the bags now, rather than realizing how disgusting the moved stock ones are, and you have to pull everything off to fix them….

another question on the saddlebag install?

Disreguard the question I ask earlier in this post. I got the problem solverd.

They also sent the stardard panel grill. no hole in the pair I got. when I called to find out what was going on I was told that by installing the Saddlebag kit I would only have a 90 day warranty. to get the full year warranty the dealer has to install it. So I might end up having the dealer install it and 2.5 hours at $119 is $297.50 + tax $25.30 $322.80. B.S.

Did you end up going with the actual BRP branded unit?

BRP R-35 Rigid Saddlebags

Went with the BRP brand name. Sure is fun putting them on. :gaah: but I am learning a lot so it ok. I could have never gotten as far as I have without your pictures so thanks ever so much for the pictures:congrats: real good job of showing others how to do it. Just wondering, did you know that if you install these bags yourself the warranty is only good for 90 day. In order to get the 1 year warranty you have to let the dealer install them. For me that would have been $322.80 for the install. crazy
You ride safe and have a good week.

So I just might let the dealer do it.

Good choice on the BRP branded setup--- I think you'll really like them!

I did not realize the difference in warranty--- but I still would have installed them myself to save the $$$$---- $322 is nuts !

I can understand a tech needing 2.5 or 3 hours the FIRST time they install a set of these bags--- but after they know what they're doing it shouldn't take over 1.5 hours.....

Good name "Leo",
It's obvious that the guy who write the instructions must have walked around the Spyder as he was writing. He was also expressing himself in a foreign language that is why it's not understandable. The "adn" is proof.
