6. Reason? -Simple. Freedom of choice... Tell me why Horse Riders for hundreds of years did not (Do not) need them? All that happened is one attorney (Or many) and some Gov officials got in the way of another freedom of choice. TO much political correctness and in your face do what I want you to do "Stuff" going on. And this is coming from a person who almost died in a motorcycle accident about 20 years ago. And I was not wearing a helmet... That said.. youth yes... 18+... should be by choice...

6. While helmets are a good idea, helmet laws are the results of governments reaching into areas that are not expressly granted by the US Constitution. On the other hand, governments should protect those who are not yet of legal age, so I am fine with mandatory helmet laws for minors.

The money my insurance company pays me if I get into an accident does not have as its sole source all of the premiums I have paid over the years, rather it comes from premiums of many community members.

At least in theory, the safer everyone is, the lower my insurance rates, while still affording a profit margin for insurance companies.

Of course, one of my wife's favorite photos of a much younger me is riding a motorcycle helmetless in 1979.

Might just be because I had hair then...:dontknow:
